Baghdad:

1:KUNA: Five Iraqis injured in car bomb blast in Baghdad
A car bomb exploded in the eastern parts of Baghdad Monday, injuring five Iraqis and damaging the targetted police patrol car. Police sources said told KUNA that a car bomb exploded in the Al-Shaab suburb injuring three civilians and two policemen.

2: AP: More Bodies Found In Baghdad
In addition, the bodies of eight Iraqis who apparently were kidnapped and killed in captivity were found in the capital on Monday, police said.

7: UPI: 12 workers killed in Iraq violence
Gunmen killed 12 construction workers in an attack south of Baghdad Monday police said. The gunmen riding in two cars opened automatic rifle fire at the workers in the town of Messib and kidnapped the contractor who was supervising the work.

1. This was a big improvement, only one Marine was killed.
"Operation Iraqi Freedom" indeed. You would have been having to dig deep under the surface to even find out about the marine, much less all that other horrible stuff. Let's just say it wasn't a main feature of hume's show.

3. I really appreciate all the work you guys put in
to documenting all this stuff and keeping track of all those casualties. It must be incredibly draining work, but it's extremely necessary. I check the icasualties site religiously. I wish it wasn't all so damned depressing.

By the way, I heard a segment on NPR the other day interviewing Michael White. It's the first time I've heard the site mentioned in the mainstream media, though I admit I don't keep very close track of the MSM.
