President Fox in hurricane-ravaged Cancun day after storm
http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/N2465662.htm

I don't like Fox but at least he does his job. He got off his ass, traveled to Cancun, and demanded help for people the day after the storm.

From the article:

A visibly angry President Fox demanded that the army and police set up a joint command center in Cancun to stop an outbreak of looting and help tourists fly out.

"I want that command center operating 100 percent right now," he shouted at local officials.

<snip>

Fox complained that Cancun residents were going hungry, and he interrupted the federal civic protection chief Carmen Segura who told him supplies were on the way.

"Leave it out, Carmen. I don't know if the supplies are finished or not or if they are in people's stomachs but I don't see them here," he snapped.

1. Fox also...
pockets about $1 U.S. per night for every hotel room rented in Cancun. Several million reasons to get off his ass.

2. Yes, Cancun is a big part of Mexico's economy
but so is NOLA to the US.

Where did you hear that?

5. Again with the looting.. BRING FOOD & WATER
Edited on Mon Oct-24-05 04:11 PM by SoCalDem
and people might not be looting as much.. Send soldiers, BUT with plenty of food & water..

They should have been PRE positioned.. There was ample time to lay in stores of food & water BEFORE Wilma got there..
