The official say something nice about Hillary thread
Yes possibly the greatest challenge in the history of DU, a thread devoted EXCLUSIVELY to saying nice things about the last Democratic First Lady, one of the most LIBERAL members of the Senate (check the voting record), and the probable Democratic nominee in '08, I know many of you like to whine about it, but do it on ANOTHER thread!!! No sarcastic remarks or backhanded compliments or anything of the sort!

What did you say? Do I have money on how long this thread will last before someone ruins it??? Well thats just plain none of your business!!!

6. Hillary Clinton is an excellent Senator and human being
I read in her biography about a trip she and her staffers took to Romania, during which they visited one of the notorious orphanages. Most of her staff, men included, could not take it and had to excuse themselves to the back room to cry their eyes out. Hillary stayed, dry eyed, and talked to the staff for a long time about their work and progress. Why? Because she knew that if the Romanian staff, many of whom really did care about the kids, felt like their situation was hopeless they might give up.

She's a mother. I deeply admire her ability to keep her emotions in check. I would have blubbered like there was no tomorrow.

19. I agree - smart, compassionate, with ability to get things done.
Not that there are not other good choices - but she would make a great President.

7. I had to think about it for a minute or two.
I think the fact that she is a polarizing figure is her best...and worst...attribute.

23. It is a dichotomy
But the fact that she weilds enough power as a woman in politics to be such a polarizing figure...kind of says it all.

9. Her head was in the right place on universal healthcare
execution was off though.

She's a complex person, so exclusively saying "something nice" is as dishonest as exclusively saying "something nasty".

Hope that didn't ruin it.

I think she's a strong person, very intelligent, and has a great insight into government as both a senator and from the ultimate "insiders's" position.

I just think she represents a kind of lavender democrat in terms of certain social issues, and that makes it hard for the dark blue side of the party to always agree with her and get behind her.

22. You're right. I remember that she did a lot of research......
on the matter and answered the committee's questions intelligently, and articulately. She was also able to expand on on her answers when she was asked follow-up questions.

She's got my vote, too. So does Wesley Clark or any other Democrat that makes the final cut for Democratic Presidential nominee.

She is well-spoken

She raised a good kid

She has energy

She isn't perfect (I like that.)

25. She might be a good political pick and I'd vote for any D at this point
But I fucking loathe her, and I won't forgive her for, among other things, joining Joe Leiberman and cozying up with that fascist fuckwit Jack Thompson.
