A sign that indictments are on the way? and some ranting
Office of Special Counsel -- Patrick J. Fitzgerald
Special Counsel

A sign that indictments are on the way? BOOKMARK THIS SITE!

A few more signs :
•• Fitzgerald stated he would NOT be presenting a report of his findings -- does this mean he's preparing indictments?

•• Rove is blaming Libby, Libby is blaming Rove - the rest of them are saying it's not their fault

•• Names have been circulated for replacing Karl Rove and others

•• Republican choir have been out in force trying pooh-pooh and muddy up the situation with mis"speaks".

•• "they are tired", "they are burnt-out", "it's a hard job" excuses are spinning to explain why Bush is incompetent

•• some pundits are still drinking the kool-aid and try to divert attention from Bush by pointing out that ROVE is distracted and therefore bush is having problems

•• When the media was focusing on possible indictments - the story was bumped off the headlines by terror threats (NY subways and tunnel) -- look for more of these types of "terror threats" to occur in the upcoming weeks. and reported 16 hours ago....US Capitol Police Block Off Streets after Possible Bomb Threat

Meanwhile -- a previously tight-lipped-no comment due to on going investigation white house has loosened their lips a bit

•• When rumors flew earlier this week regarding the "probable/possible" involvement of Cheney -- Scott "scotty-dawg" McClennan jumped on it in a lame attempt at pooh-poohing the notion that Cheney knew about the smear attempt

•• bush* brushes it off as "background noise" Bush says focused on job not 'background noise'
---snip--- Asked how preoccupied the White House was by distractions, Bush told reporters he was concentrating on his work.

"There's some background noise here, a lot of chatter, a lot of speculation and opining. But the American people expect me to do my job, and I'm going to," Bush said in the White House Rose Garden after talks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

The basic question still remains - why did we really invaded Iraq. Plamegate or Treasongate is just that - a gate that once opened will shine the light on more damaging information.

Will it lead to impeachment? As I've stated on numerous occassions - this is going to depend on the 2006 mid-term (s)elections and which party is in charge. If the repugs maintain control - there will be no impeachment - the spin will be that the repugs have a mandate and by extension the 'murican people support the pResident

If impeachment goes beyond media/internet blogs and actually becomes a topic in the House and Senate - repugs will most likely use Iraq war as an excuse against impeachment .... "...you don't impeach a president in the middle of a war..."

One more point and I'll shut up -- It was reported that when bush found out ROVE leaked/lied, he (bush) was angry. Ok fine - but this brings up other questions - what DIDN'T bush know, when DIDN'T he know it and WHY DIDN'T he know it? And if he DIDN'T know it - can he be held accountable?

Flashback to Enron, Worldcom and other corporate scandals -- the CEO's all claimed they didn't know the financial reports were "cooked". Congress and the SEC now require CEO's to sign off on financial reports/statements as a way of holding them responsible. If a CEO are being held responsible and accountable for things being done on their "watch" - can we expect no less of the pResident?

2. The buck doesn't stop with bush. Never has. Not accountable for anything.

Talk about plausible deniability? There may be a case to be made there. Who knows what kind of shizzit has gone on in his name over these past five hideous years? Without his knowledge, mostly because he's a tool.

There may have been reports about everyone else close to bush being tired, burned out, etc. (I've read those), but I don't remember reading/hearing anything about bush being burned out. But I imagine he has a damned tough time getting up every day to face the shitstorm about to hit the fan. This has got to be weighing on him, and I'm glad about that. I hope his sorry ass starts to squirm a bit, the way many of us have been squirming since he arrived on the scene.

A WH without rove? That would be great - not getting ahead of myself here with eager anticipation - but even better would be seeing bush stew and shrink before our eyes. His legacy has already been written, in large measure, and it will not be pretty. I realize the winner get to write the history - or at least that's the way it was for centuries - but even if the sheeple are deluded, and the rest of us are under the thumbs of republicans - worldwide scorn will follow bush forever.

I do not believe liberals/progressives will be under the thumbs of republicans, however. I choose to envision a turning of the tide, as even (and perhaps especially) decent traditional republicans become disgusted with the cheney/bush cabal, and what it has done to our country, world, and children. Our country is in a considerably weakened state - politically, economically, and morally - than at any point, and knowledge of this damn well ought to encourage a change. America can do better.

8. Good point on the 2006 midterms.
In the 2002 elections Rove told Bush: "focus on war".

In 2006 we'll focus on the miserable failure of the Bush adminstration. It's going to be a referendum on the President and a chance to put the grownups in charge.

(or maybe we should just chuck it all and run on an 'impeach Bush' platform) :)

9. Criminal negligence.
Bush is guilty of at least 5,000 counts of negligent homicide (2,000 troops KIA in Iraq, 3,000 civilians killed on 9/11, who knows how many dead as the result of federal inaction in the aftermath of Katrina). He's also guilty of wantonly and knowingly bankrupting the country. Among other things. Perhaps one of the lawyers among us could write up the indictment papers.
