CERT® Advisory CA-2003-99d DU2 Virus
Edited on Wed Jul-16-03 02:20 PM by cspiguy
CERT® Advisory CA-2003-99d Nimda Worm
Original release date: July 16, 2003
Revised: July 16, 2003
Source: CERT/CC

A complete revision history is at the end of this file.

Systems Affected:
Systems running Linux, FreeBSD, Solaris
Overview:
The CERT/CC has received reports of new malicious code known as the "DU2 worm" or the "DU2 Postmasterbater(DU2P) v.5." This new worm/virus appears to spread thoughout PHP databases containing progressive threads and/or other data. It's propagation is directly proportional to the frustration detected during navigation and posting.
Outlook: Endless frustration leading to brief consideration of Microsoft products, finally resulting in abandonment of all reason and a desire to get back to work.
Remedial Actions: If anyone knew, they would perform them.

1. It's a breath mint, it's a candy mint.
I guess if it affects FreeBSD, there is a possibility that it will hit us OSX users. Should I not use X11 and stick to Aqua? Is Darwin affected? Will my cat come back?

What about the users of the Republican OS, XP?

Should I go to slashdot for the cure?
