I should be happy

I've been following the Valorie Plame story for, what, 2 years now? And we are on the edge of the investigation finally coming to a close, and it looks pretty bad for the administration.

I should be jumping for joy.

But something is holding me back, a sick feeling in my stomach, that somehow, some way, they will get away with this too.

I thought they would be 'done' when Abu Garhib hit the news. I thought the evidence of the stolen elections would be the end of them. I thought that the missing Billions would cause the people to wake up and put a stop to this madness.

Many people I talk to, (and I live on the Left Coast), don't think this CIA leak will amount to anything.

I hate this waiting! (so does my stomach).

The main criminal is the president after all. He can just pardon everybody. And they'll just be rehired again when the next filth brigade gets 'voted' in.

3. I hear what you're saying, but this time the press is paying attention.

All of the other scandals were virtually ignored by the Main Stream Media. My friends and family thought (and still think) I was a raving lunatic because I would go on and on about the corruption and they would retort, if it's true why isn't it in the news?

This story IS in the news. While I haven't redeemed my sane reputation totally, more people are starting to believe what I've been saying all along--just because a few "real" news outlets have reported the same facts I've told them. And, the good thing is that if this Plame case goes deep enough many of the other crimes will also be exposed.

4. Can't shake the memory of election night in 2004 and

the incredible fraud that went on in front of my eyes.
I read today that Bush could fire Fitzmas.
I am terrified of some as yet unknown weasly loophole they will find to crawl back into to hide.
Doesn't mean I'm not on bended knee all my waking hours :)

5. I won't give up Hope!

Even though I've a nervous stomach thinking about all of this, I still haven't given up hope.

Hope is Alive! (but I still hate all this waiting!)

And we have yet to see the worst of it. Even if the best scenario doesn't pan out, we still won!

This whole fiasco has already done irreparable damage to them.

7. there is still 150,000 troops in Iraq

and any president will have a hard time getting those troops out. I am a pull-out now person. The geo-political implications of this diaster are only starting to unfold. pull-out could mean Iraq fracturing further and leading to soaring oil and gas prices, and with that dwindling political support.
that's where I get my sinking feeling but the leak case is at least a first step for the US government to declare it has a problem. I fear things will get worse before they get better but we got to where we are because of Bush and the GOP.
