I just watched a VILE Kilgore ad on TV!!
Edited on Thu Oct-20-05 07:40 AM by cynatnite
An older man who said he lost his son to a murder claims that Kaine stood with the murderer. The man said that Kaine said Hitler didn't deserve the death penalty.

It was vile and disgusting :puke:

:grr:

Kilgore sponsered this ad.

4. Kilgore's site has the ad if anyone can stomach it...
http://www.jerrykilgore.com/contents/media/videos/ads/

I'm in E. TN and these commercials are playing here. I'm so infuriated by this nastiness and Kilgore should be ashamed.

23. Southeastern VA and NE TN share the news...
I live in the Tri-Cities and the area the news covers is large.

3. Kilgore's ads are terrible. I hope the voters punish him for it.
Most of his ads are really negative. Kaine's recent ad is, "I will respect Virginia's juries when they sentence someone to death, because that's the law."

I can't believe the Death Penalty is the big issue in this race though. It's Republican politics at its finest...distract from real issues with divisive bullshit that only concerns a small fraction of the population.

5. what do you expect?
Kilgore is an asshole. There is no way that the citizens of Virginia are gonna go for that shit. Kaine's in the lead now, barely, but we're there. If democrats would just VOTE, we wouldn't have to worry. I've talked to everyone I can, and I'm still working. Kaine will be our next governor. It's gotta happen.

6. Oh, you just wait...
Kaine can't just sit back and let this ad steal votes away from him. He's gotta come out swinging.

From what I've seen of him he seems like he'll be a great governor. I hope he beats this ass though and beats him hard.

11. Hell no that is all Kilgore has
HE has no campaign other than "STOP KAINE"

psst the whole point of this is to stop Kaine from being an ex-Governor when he runs for John Warner's Senate seat...get it?

The only positive thing I have yet heard out of the Kilgore campaign is how Jerry was AG when 104 pieces of legislation got through the Gen.Assembly.....um who was Lt.Gov then???

Of course Kilgore QUITE as AG last year to concentrate on this campaign.

One of the funniest things is this-the AG race seems to be all about "frivolous lawsuits" by Va. prisoners. I had no idea this was a big concern (probably isn't) but no one seems to be connecting the dots that these lawsuits were filed (if they were) when KILGORE was AG.

Seriously this is getting weird.

26. Why Is That So Obvious to Us?
It seems that when a politician has nothing to offer he offers attacks on his opponent? Why don't negative ads bother everyone? If you have a good platform to run on, that should be enough.

Hopefully all the indictments and some convictions will be out there before our election. Wonder how fast Kilgore can run from the GOP?

8. Papers are slamming Kilgore-Kaine was court appointed-coke related death
I summarized to get that in the subject line. I feel for Mr.Rosenbluth but he IS the president of the Parents for the Death Penalty (or something like that) and his son and daughter-in-law WERE killed by their coke dealer (I hate to have to go there but I have to go there) AND they flat out lied-Kaine didn't volunteer he was court appointed.

10. Thank you for posting that. I was just going to.
Pretty convenient that the ad leaves out the coke dealer part. Kaine should slam him for that.

15. New KAine ad has several major papers' quotes (T-D not included)
I know you aren't surprised by that. H.Ross himself probably asked that loaded question about Hitler himself.

Featured video here: (doesn't include the main selling point of Kaine's TV ads to date ;-) :bounce: )

Swiftboating your opponents is all that counts any more in politics. First candidate to go negative, wins.

29. Yeah it took me a while
It was sitting there but it was (oddly) an article by Tim Lampley on the Huffingtion blog that said "it is okay to mention that now"

Look it up -it has to do with gambling and how Vegas and the offshore bookies had Kerry a 2-1 favorite midafternoon and then POOF it all went away. I had seen the statisticall analysis and all that but when the bookmakers get faked out and faked out THAT much....no no way is that believeable.

13. I hope Kaine slams Kilgore hard over this...
I don't even live in VA and I feel like I have a stake in this race since we've gotten so many of the commercials here.

It's vile. They're trying to say that Kaine supports Hitler :puke:

This is also a pic of the future, too. The repukes are desperate and will go to any lengths.

19. There's a LTTE in the Washington Post this morning about this
ad: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/10/19/AR2005101902013.html

<snip>

Are attorneys who volunteer to represent death row inmates enemies of the victims' families? That's what Jerry W. Kilgore's television ads suggest <"Kilgore Ads Seek to Divide Democrats; Kaine Death Penalty Position at Odds With Warner, Most Voters," front page, Oct. 13>.

25. They ran the policeman's widow every 15 minutes
during a football game on Fox last Sunday. The message being "some thug killed my husband and I don't trust Tim Kaine to keep us safe".

 especially Kilgore's happy face appears to say he supported this message.

and Kaine had ZERO NADA NOTHING to do with that case.

I think they picked her for this ad for more than one reason. ;-)
