People are touchy today and pissed here on DU. Trying to have an intelligent discussion without conflict is troublesome at best. Did you see the stuff on the poll about spanking? Wow, I needed an asbestos suit over there! I mean if you try to be glib, everyone is acting like you mean it. I've been jumped on numerous times and if the flamers would only read what was said instead of glancing over it and reacting, well.
This was happening to everyone. I pity anyone who gets in our way if we're all united. WOW!!!

Come on people, you have a right to your righteous indignation. But let's not consume each other in the flames of its raging glory.

give up but I do make peace and I am happy to say that I think I just made peace with two people I was fighting with earlier. Goodness, people at DU can be so nice once we get our YaYa's out!

I'm staying away from that spanking thread. There's people here who believe in "No Contact" "disciplining". and they have no sense of humour.

They're the ones whose little Golden Child runs all over the place wile they go "Justin! don't make Mommy have to sing you the 'Time Out Song'! Justin! How many times must Mommy tell you to be quiet? Justin?"

Actually, they DO have a sense of humour, such as it is. Michael Feldman on NPR leaves them in stitches... :shrug:

To which I answered, "So is seeing an adult trying to reason with an unruly 3 year old." I think I had your picture in my head as I wrote it.

But you know, we need those people. For every kid that comes out okay from them and helps the rest of us find the way to using lesser forms of punishment that work, god bless em.

I put in my 2 cents early in that thread and then luckily signed off and went to Walldude's house for dinner. Watched a very beautiful Hunter's Moon come up too. I'm happy to let them eat each other up about child rearing.

I was just watching it fly across the NYC sky. The clouds were moving so fast and the moon was so full it looked like it was zooming by.
