The Far Right's Scam
The American RW has perfected a type of scam that nobody else can pull off.

They fleece 2 groups.

They get one group to support something and they get another group to oppose that same thing. This causes the groups to come in conflict with one another.

The lobbying and the fees and the conflict causes the RW to collect a lot of cash in the end.

Examples of this scam:

The Iraq-Iran War
Abramoff-Reed Indian Casino Scandal
Norquist-Wildmon-Perkins Marriage Amendment Fiasco

What should we call this scam?

How should we stop it?

1. They also do this in elections.
I worked for a Dem candidate who used to be a big time Republican. The party asked him to run against their chosen candidate in a state senate race and spend his own money, in order for their chosen candidate to look strong going into the general election.

They do this not only to make their guy look strong; they raise a whole lot more $, too.

3. the Hegelian Dialectic
Edited on Sun Oct-16-05 03:42 PM by McKenzie
and that's not meant to make me sound real clever and stuff.

It's the cynical exploitation those gits sometimes refer to as "constructive chaos". Whilst that's an oxymoron the worship of Hegel goes waaay back in the lineage of these people; that is how they operate. "They get one group to support something and they get another group to oppose that same thing. This causes the groups to come in conflict with one another." Absolutely.

How do we stop it? Christ knows ck4829. I get the feeling they are laughing at all of us squabbling, whether we are left or right, or upside down for that matter.

4. Do Neo-cons just use Hegel so they'll sound real clever and stuff?
They're not doing anything a couple of two-bit bank robbers wouldn't do without the benefit of post grad studies. "You create a diversion while I go for the safe."

It's hard to imagine the BFEE actually buys into chaos theory in their own lives. Doubtful Barbara Bush brings a burnt turkey to the Thanksgiving table, hoping to create enough chaos to award a no-bid contract to her favorite catering firm for the next holiday dinner.

The Bushs and their hangers-on are white trash. (No offense to white trash.)

8. Chaos theory. Divide and conquer. Keep everyone unstable.
That way, you can fly in and out and do your dirty work and no one knows who the sheriff is and who the jailer is.

Every company has times where it does this. Only problem is, this company is running your country and most of your planet this way.
