Miers = Accumulation of Power
I ran across this article from Knight Ridder regarding Miers' nomination. IMHO, this is the real reason for her nomination. Not the other fluff. Smirky only cares about the accumulation of power. This really is about Miers thinking Smirky is the smartest man she ever met. (I also think she was nominated to head off any legal troubles for the Chimperor, like going to the Hague and all.)

Miers likely chosen for her support of expanded presidential powers

PHILADELPHIA - (KRT) - A lot of Americans are still wondering why President Bush picked Harriet Miers for the U.S. Supreme Court. It's the prime topic of discussion among the angry conservatives who have been pounding Miers like a pinata for two weeks.

But the Miers nomination isn't about abortion at all. It's about putting somebody on the court who will protect the legacy Bush cares about most: the expansion of presidential power during the war on terrorism.

And who best to rule in favor of those expanded powers - the authority to detain "enemy combatants" indefinitely without trial; to prosecute them in Bush-created military tribunals and to limit their right of appeal; to quiz them under flexible rules of interrogation - than a jurist who had been legal counsel and staff aide to the president who sought those powers?

The administration's priorities were on full display last Tuesday, in a speech by White House chief of staff Andrew Card. While lauding Miers ("a pretty phenomenal woman") to a conservative gathering, he never mentioned abortion, gay marriage, church-state relations, or any other hot-button issue. All he mentioned was the importance of preserving presidential prerogatives.

2. What happens after her great man leaves the White House?
Is the "loyal" to GW Bush, or to the Presidency, or what?

3. To the heir apparent, Jeb of course, or other sociopaths appointed
by the repugs. Remember we have a monarchy going now.
Anointed/Appointed rulers.

4. It depends...
Republican Presidents get protection. Democratic Presidents get none.

Is my cynicism showing?

6. The Bush crime syndicate is a thriving business
I believe the plan is for 8 years of George P. Jeb's lawyer son who is now working for the Gonzales law firm while the Bush Crime Family looks for a Congressional seat to buy for him.

I think George P. Bush will be the last one elected. They will be appointed after that. Not that they aren't now for all practical purposes. The Bush Crime Family takes a long-term view on things.

...and it articulated well why I so fear the Chimperor. He is uncomfortable with the checks and balances our Founding Fathers built into the U.S. Constitution specifically to guard against Hitler wannabes like him.

The Hague is exactly where an impeached and power stripped Bush should go. And he should be shipped there like Daddy shipped the old Bush family servant gone independent Manuel Noriega, in shackles and cuffs, wearing an orange jumpsuit with a sack over the ugly growth on his shoulders he calls a head.
