Is this a minor objection? Delivery driver bumper sticker.
I went to buy beer to watch the game this evening and there was a car pulled up to the gas pumps with a Mazzio's pizza delivery sign on top of it. The car had a "Boycott France" (obviously old) bumper sticker on it. It pissed me off, probably more than it should have.

But I thought about calling Mazzio's and asking whether this bumper sticker represented the company's feelings and political position. I ended up not calling because I realize that actual PEOPLE work as delivery drivers and I didn't want some guy getting in trouble and possibly losing his job because of this.

For some reason it's still nagging at me. Do you guys think I should call? How do you think they'd respond if someone called complaining that a delivery driver had a "Kerry/Edwards" or "Impeach Bush" sticker on their car? (Very likely, I live in Oklahoma).

16. I have seen ads for pizza delivery guys in the paper that say "Must have
own vehicle." They give them the stupid sign, and they give them, sometimes, a mileage allowance.

3. He's a working stiff, driving a car to deliver pizza.

It may not even be his car. What if it's his butt reaming old man's car, and your call gets him fired?

4. I'd leave it alone. You are right. Pizza delivery guys don't
really represent the Pizza house. They just deliver the product, and use their own vehicle to do so.

If it bothers yu that much, just go to another pizza shop for your pizza.

6. Yeah, you guys are right. I don't want to get anyone in trouble.
Just pissed me off. I guess I'm tired of all the stupid stickers around here lately.

5. Leave it alone.
My understanding is that a lot of pizza delivery drivers have to provide their own vehicle and insurance. Who knows but that the car was purchased used with the sticker already on it or may even have been borrowed.

Besides... freedom of speech and all that, right? ;)

7. I work as a delivery driver...don't do it.
it's definitley his private vehicle. He attaches the sign to the car each day before his shift starts. Maybe if he delivers something to you you could engange in a "chat" about it, but his opinions are seperate from that of the company.

Anyway, if you were to call, the owner of the company will probably treat you in a polite and detached manner before laughing with the driver about the incident when he hangs up.

10. LOL you're probably right!
I've worked in CS and other retail jobs before...I know how "the public" can be so ridiculous. I guess I shouldn't have posted this at all...it was just a minor annoyance that I should have talked to HIM about if I had such a problem with it. Like I posted earlier, I wouldn't be out to get anyone in trouble, it was more like a gut reaction that pissed me off. Ah well. I'm sure all my stickers piss off plenty of people at my university, but my students aren't trying to get me fired, at least not that I know of. =)

8. Dont do it
I work as a delivery driver as well and I have already gotten crap for my stickers from a wingnut. I was asked to remove them, until I said I would quit before I did so. Its more than likely a personal, not a company vehicle.

As someone said earlier, we have all have the right to express our feelings no matter how stupid they may be.

11. You guys are right, like I posted before.
Sorry to waste you guys' time. It was just a thought, and had I thought more about it before I posted, I wouldn't have posted. I'm not out to get anyone, and I don't think I ever would have called. Guess I was just frustrated from seeing the W stickers down the street and dealing with ignoramuses every day here in Oklahoma.

12. Are you new to Oklahoma?
If not, I would have thought you'd be immune to stuff like that in that state by now.

17. If the guy's not shouting "Heil Bush" in your face when you open the door,
I'd leave it alone, let him have whatever stupid bumper sticker he wants on his car, as you'd expect and want a liberal to be left alone for his or her bumper stickers.
