Rightwing Exploding Heads, Judith Miller, & The "Liberal" New York Times
http://www.presstitutes.com/presstitutes/2005/10/rightwing_explo.html

When Pre$$titutes was launched in August, several rightwing bloggers thought it was a spoof site. It was inconceivable to them that a progressive blog could target the New York Times, Washington Post, AP, CNN, MSNBC, etc. as purveyors of a pro-Bush narrative.

The "liberal media" mantra has been driven into their skulls with ruthless precision, and for most rightwingers it's the centerpiece of their political worldview.

As we wrote in a previous post, "This is an era where caterwauling maniacs like Limbaugh, Hannity, O'Reilly, and the grand dame of Pre$$titutes, Ann Coulter, reach millions of listeners, and where rightwing-think-tank trained 'pundits' dominate the airwaves. It is an era where the Gang of 500 have refined the art of Bush brown-nosing to such a degree that it's hard to tell where their faces end and Bush's ass begins."

Despite that unavoidable reality, rightwingers' heads explode at the suggestion that the New York Times shills for Bush by repeating deeply etched pro-Bush narratives.

But the NYT's shoddy treatment of the Plame case - and Judith Miller's role in it - belies its reputation as the "liberal" paper of record. There's a blogswarm about Miller and the Times this weekend, and here are a few good links...

1. Judith Miller cannot act on her own. How can an employee-journalist

collude with the WH to help cause a war with her Chalabi lies, then collude with the WH to turn on the CIA? Employees don't have that kind of authority independent of their employer. The New York TImes is guilty.

Scooter Libby, Karl Rove, or Ari Fleischer or Mary Matalin cannot act on their own to carry off an illegal act to bring down a 20 year cover company of the CIA on their own, individually or collectively without the approval of Cheney or Bush or whoever it is that runs Cheney and Bush. White House employees do not have that kind of authority.

This is an act between the NYT and the WH and the rulers of the WH at the highest level. Every deal between a media corporation and the WH should be made known - from Katherine Graham to this NYT mess.

They are guilty.

There was no protecting the source here. They colluded together. Miller, Libby, Rove, Bolton (whoever) are only the soldiers. Their generals are in the NYT board rooms and that circle room. Just as the NBCs participation in shilling a war was in the board room of Welsh and that circle room at 1600 Pennsylvania.

We are being crapped on.

Bless all the souls of the poor Iraqi people and our own.

Humanity has struck a new low thanks to the right wing.
