Want to know why people have enlisted in the military AFTER Iraq War?

I just heard a radio interview of some new recruits. Every one of them said they want to fight in Iraq because of what happened here on 9/11! It's amazing how many people still think that Iraq was behind 9/11.

4. Not to bash men or anything

but I think it is kind of a male response. We got a sucker punch and we hit out blindly at the first (or second) person to get in our way.

At least that is the only way I can understand the folks who insist there is a connection.

I HAVE had one or two RW folks comment upon a mural in Iraq that showed Saddam grinning and smoking a cigar in front of a picture of the twin towers on fire. Guess that doesn't help.

In short, when it comes to "We'll put a boot in your ass, it's the American way.." it doesn't matter whose ass it is.

It's not solely a male response, but I see your point. People used to like Bush because of his macho, John Wayne image.

BTW, we didn't strike out blindly at the first person (or country) to get in our way. Bush had a personal vendetta against Iraq and carefully orchestrated things so that America would hate them too. Otherwise, Bush would have put the emphasis on finding Osama bin Laden.
