1. absolutely!
I was a member of DAR when I was younger, but quit when I realized how rw the organization is. Funny, too, because if they'd looked into the history of their Revolutionary ancestors, they'd find Great Grandpa would be more at home with the liberals than with them....at least mine would!

4. I thought about joining them at one time
but my mom (who isn't eligible, I am on my dad's side of the family) asked if I really wanted to join an organization Eleanor Roosevelt resigned from in protest. The answer, of course, was no.

Since then I've hung a print of Grant Woods' "Daughters of the Revolution" painting in my living room. It always makes me smile.
