5. Some columnists continue to disappoint me...
Edited on Tue Oct-11-05 04:11 PM by higher class
. I thought Murray Waas was one of the better ones. This paragraph diapoointed me:

"WHITE HOUSE
Libby Did Not Tell Grand Jury About Key Conversation

By Murray Waas, special to National Journal

snipped =

Although Miller would never herself write about Plame, it was two days after her last conversation with Libby that conservative columnist Robert Novak would reveal Plame as a CIA "operative" in his now-famous column of July 14, 2003. " ..... snipped

How would he know that Miller herself would never write about Plame? Any journalists out there - is this journalistic?

. Why don't any of the journalists speculate about the first reason for the leak?

Reason #1: Stop the investigation of wmd and nuclear equipment that Cheney was involved in which her cover company, Brewster Jennings,
was investigating? (I'm not saying they were investigating Cheney, they were, it is said, investigating the entire deal - the trade of wmd and nuclear equipment.

Reason #2: Take revenge for Wilson's op-ed.

If the first reason is true, why does everyone sneak away from it? Number one is more important to the country.

Why not an all out outing of the work of Brewster Jennings?

It is misleading and dishonestly evasive for journalits not to investigate Brewster Jennings and the work that was interrupted by the Plame outing.

If they are going to speculate about what Miller would never do, why not Brewster Jennings?

8. "would never herself write about Plame" can be read as meaning
"never did, in fact, end up writing about Plame."

That's the way I read it, anyway.

Reason #1 sounds very interesting. Any links to recommend?

had a link to it when I first became educated. I found it again when I entered Khan Chenwy wmd Jennings, but now I think it has dropped down and I don't have my print copies here.

There is plenty if you enter those keywords in a search engine, but I would prefer to recommend the single article that really exposed Cheney's role for me and detailed, a little, what Brewster-Jennings was doing.

Sorry, I don't recognize the url of the one I recommend.

That is A. Q. Khan, Pakistan's nuclear guy guy.... scientist and wheeler-dealer for profit. Considered a hero in Pakistan. He and his trafficking of wmd and nuclear equipment is what Brewster Jennings was 'following'. Cheney was/is very involved according to the writer who wrote the article that exposed maximum detail, imo.

10. It depends on the meaning of the word "ever"

Mr. Libby, did you ever talk to Ms. Miller about this before July?

If your defense is you don't know June is before July, you might as well start picking out your jailhouse daddy.
