And the spin continues - Rice still babbling about justification for war
Rice says report on Saddam validates move to wage war

By Bill Sammon
THE WASHINGTON TIMES

National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice said yesterday that the United Nations would have backed the war against Iraq had it known about newly discovered abuses by Saddam Hussein.
Miss Rice said a report to Congress last week by David Kay of the Iraq Survey Group showed several instances of Saddam lying about his weapons programs to a team of U.N. inspectors led by Hans Blix. The team's failure to ferret out specific, definitive evidence of weapons caused the United Nations to balk at the prospect of war last year, she said.
"Had any one of these examples been discovered last winter, the Security Council would have had to meet," Miss Rice said. "And I believe that they would have had no choice but to take exactly the course that President Bush followed."
As part of a White House effort to gain support for Iraq's reconstruction, Miss Rice highlighted further misdeeds by the Saddam regime.
"Right up until the end, Saddam Hussein continued to torture and oppress his people," she said in a speech to the Chicago Council on Foreign Relations. "Right up until the end, Saddam Hussein lied to the Security Council.

1. Who is paying for this propaganda campaign?
This is electioneering. The taxpayer should not have to pay a dime for this.

2. Well
The Washington Times is a Moonie rag, if that helps. Sun Myung Moon... that whacko Korean who thinks he is Jesus and has many links with Bushco and the religious right (he bailed out Falwell in some university deal).

Google "Bush" and "Moonie" and the whole tale comes out. It is a strange one.

4. I mean the new Bushco campaign
that started this week to try to convince some of the world's fools that they did the right thing by invading Iraq. They are out trying to sell Bushco policies to voters and that happens to be a function of political campaigning--not a function of running the government.

5. watch for "new" PR bush*t campaign regarding Iraq
heard CNN last night, briefly, that the white house is starting up a PR campaign to focus on the "success" in Iraq rather than our troops getting killed/wounded

Lipstick on a pig is more like it

the question now is will the media lapdogs roll over for a belly rub on this

6. Would it have killed them to tell the truth?
I have a feeling that, had Bush and Rice and Powell, gone to the UN and said something like "Iraq is in violation of UN resolutions. We think Saddam has WMD's but we are not sure. We need to go in there and find out, and also he is torturing and murdering his people just because they disagree with him", the UN would have back this invasion and our allies would have been more helpful. But no, they had to "gin up" evidence about yellowcake and anthrax, using old intelligence that the CIA repeatedly told the Bushies was no good, and have us go it alone. NOW the lying bitch says it was for humanitarian reasons. Well, maybe they should have tried that last year. God these people are evil.

7. she gets my "mouth of sauron" nomination
You know the mouth of sauron in return of the king (the hobbit film yet to be released) There is this hollow evil soul that mouths the words of the dark lord to the assembled companies at the great gates of moridor... you will all accept lord sauron as your lord and savior or die.

Must we fill the TV screens with demons, or can't they find pretty actors and actresses andymore to mouth the hollow words. What an ugly person. Its not because of her race, its because she is an ugly soul with an ugly heart who's dark sold out conscience is so deeply asleep she looks comatose.

Perhaps she is just another nazgul, and if richard pearle is the king of the nazgul, then what is condi?

8. So for Condi
having a war and justifying it afterward is perfectly acceptable. These people need to be in jail. Shut the f*ck up Condi.

9. I think the key word in anything Rice says...
... at this point is "Saddam's ambitions."

They've not found any development programs, nor places carrying out R&D, so what's left are probably a few documents indicating what Hussein would have liked to have done.

10. Whatever happened to the 45-minute launch of WMD's?
I was lied to so effectively, I expected Baghdad to be lit up by 20 suitcase-nukes as soon as the Occupying Forces moved in.

Now the tune has changed so many times - the rationale for invasion gets weaker and weaker. "Saddam aspired to threaten" is Condi's latest. HE wanted to acquire the means to one day be a viable threat. So we had to do it. Yet North Korea still builds plutonium bombs and the USGOV has its collective thumb up it's a**.

Condi must need some serious help sleeping at night. I know I would if my job was deceiving the Free World.

12. Do Republican women with doctorates prefer to be called "Miss"
so that we can define her by nonmarried status? Maybe the Times thinks she took the job to get a husband.

13. One account I read said Rice...
is one of Shrub's closest advisors-- possibly the closest advisor.

This means, of course, that we are in deep shit.

(as if we didn't know that)

15. What a good little lapdog you are, Condi
And how generous of you to agree to never watch videotapes of yourself when you make statements like these. Good thing, too. Because if you ever saw yourself blinking and stammering and groping for words the way you do when you know you're lying, you'd barf like a bulimic.

Apropos of John Lennon's birthday:

How do you sleep? Ah, how do you sleep?

I salute you, Dr. Reiss,
