Did no one else see Letterman gore Arnold?
I hope this is a dupe. I hope I wasn't the only one watching because my memory sucks.

Dave suggested New York recall Pataki and get a more happening gov. He had a list of potential celebrity candidates.

He showed Leno and Lowe at the Arnold celebration. Leno was looking at his watch.

He show a clip of Bush discussing the new gov. Except it was Bush talking about how we weren't going to tolerate a dictator who could destroy us.

He showed a satellite photo in which California breaks off the continental US.

He was busy, was Dave.

6. he is not a Republican
Most likely it was someone who doesn't like Dave making Clinton jokes (comedy shouldn't play favorites) and automatically thinks "Republican!". :eyes:

I remember Dave when he had VP Gore on 10 or so years ago, smashing gov't ashtrays and having real fun, and then on the 1 year annivesary of 9-11, who had Clinton on their talk show? Dave. He was very respectful, as he was when he had Jimmy Carter on there.

I suspect Dave is independent. He seems to have a healthy dislike of Bush - no one else will show video clips of Bush hawking a loogie for example - so I think you should trust your instincts - he isn't Republican. :-)

19. He goes after whoever was in power
He really went after Clinton when he was President. But then, Bill gave him lots of material. ;-)

20. The opening ...
of the show last night really caught my attention (heard it, didn't see it).

I thought I heard the announcer say something like (I paraphrase)
"and now (something) Right Wing (something)".

His first joke was great.
"It's official Florida is no longer the stupidest state"

Cheers
Drifter

21. Letterman can be good, Leno is disgusting
I caught a commercial for Leno Tuesday night. His "joke" almost made me smash my tv;

What's the difference between Arnie's women and Clinton's women? About 100 pounds

I was shocked. My partner and I just stared at each other in disbelief.

15. A Day in the Life of Governor-Elect Schwartzenegger:
(excerpts):

9:00 am: Takes careful look at California budget, asks advisors, "Is it too late to bow out?"

10:00 am: Advisors show him how to locate California on the map

Noon: Calls Jeb Bush to thank him for rigging the election (!!)

2:45 pm: Government offices greet callers with this message: "No one is available to take your call right now, as they've all fled to Mexico."

Hilarious.

18. Sorry to hijack the thread...but have you heard the line Wesley Clark is
using? I've seen him say it a couple of times at events that are broadcast on C-Span.

"Bush is going to need brothers in the other 49 states!" Isn't that hilarious?

22. I remember when Dave had Clinton on,
He remarked to Clinton, "I wish you were still my president." That was after Clinton delivered an accurate accessment of current world events without referring to notes or stumbling like shrubbie.
