...here at DU I am new, but I've been reading here and at KOS/Buzz/Indy etc. since Bush's inauguration last Jan. I've seen people post things here--and then I've seen them 'disappear'. I had a friend who was a member, made what they thought was an innocuous comment, and got banned. No chance to explain, nobody even said why--I mean, maybe it was just a misunderstanding, but nobody here even ASKED.

If you REALLY want me to be honest with you--and I'd LOVE to be--I'm afraid to post all the different things I think because, if someone with more posts than I have (which is just about everyone!) takes offense, or doesn't like what I've said, I'm afraid I'll be gone (I might well be kicked out for THIS post--I'm taking a big chance).

If you REALLY think 'many people are afraid to say the truth', you may be right. The second question you need to ask yourself is WHY.
