Homeland Security : NY plot "not credible"

Homeland Security spokesman Brian Doyle said Friday: "The specified intelligence was checked out through the intelligence agencies. They looked at all the information and couldn't put a credible factor on it."

Homeland Security's Doyle said the government has no information that the fourth person possibly connected to the plot "is either here or even exists."

2. Geez they say it isn't credible..then news comes out they've arrested

a 3rd person in the plot. You wonder what they're up to. Like making sure this one appears to be real and that they stopped the plot.

4. My sister is a homeland security Intern

I've visited her staff and helped out in a roleplaying counterterrosim exercise before.

She told me about a month ago something to the extent of: "they are saying there will be a terrorist attack by september 19"

Well, I guess all this news coverage is a spawn of what she told me.

I really don't want to ask her more, because I don't want her to know that I'm telling everyone this in particular (: p ).

You have to live your life. I lost ALL credibility with the plastic and dict tape fiasco.

Call me cynical, but everything is done to try to boost basement poll numbers with this administration. "He said, she said". Let NYC officials take the blame this time for "crying wolf". Sounds like it more to put FEAR into the REST of the country to me.

6. The people my sister work with don't fabricate things

Of course, it's the politicians that are injecting fear into people, not the actual police officers. So let's say my sister's boss says there is a suspicious bag in a park in Atlanta. Bush can quote him and call it a major terrorist threat without being in any threat of lying.

7. I agree with you, but I wonder why they play this game

The story makes no sense :

why bother to use Al Qaeda forces in Iraq (!) - and they aren't that many - to go and blow up stuff in New York, when the logistics are so incredibly difficult - when you have plenty of stuff to blow up in Raq where the logistics are so much easier. It doesn't make sense.

The only explanation is that somebody wants to draw a direct link terror Iraq - terror USA. It's Bush "thesis". Iraq is now the "base" for INTERNATIONAL terror, which is of course BS. It's the contrary "people" are going TO Iraq to blow up Americans.
