This was reported by the news earlier tonight and I find it strangely odd.

I rarely wear :tinfoilhat: but I can't help it now.

2. Yup
You gotta give em one thing, that Halliburton subsidiary sure knows how to hide the bodies.

No matter what number comes out, it won't be accurate. They are playing a numbers game. If the people died in a weather related car accident (like the lady buried on the corner for days in NO) they won't count it toward the Hurricane. Normally, even weather related traffic fatalities are included in storm deaths.

As an example, last I heard, only 7 died in Rita.... in other words, they didn't count the 24 bus passengers who died while evacuating. Just like everything else, shrub is playing numbers games. If it makes him look bad, you alter the numbers. If it makes him look good, you alter the numbers.

We'll never, ever know the whole truth.

6. I was wondering about that earlier today--just exactly WHAT is the
criteria for judging which death is due to Katrina?

Are there deaths being taken out of the count because they've been designated as a death due to floodwall failure?

7. Nope, that was a totally unrelated event.
Why, even the insurance companies say the flood had nothing to do with a hurricane that just happened to be in the neighborhood.

ahh, the numbers game. It's kind of like the police agencies who have learned to classify a high (violent) crime such as aggravated assault into a low crime such as verbal harassment. Makes the crime rate look much lower.

4. The dead will be telling in with missing persons reports
some families might be completely wiped out. Family in other cities or states will have to file. It's quite chilling.

5. And as long as there's no positive identification
no matter what a family says, people will be classified as 'missing, probably voluntarily', not dead.
