No Child Unrecruited
Edited on Thu Oct-06-05 12:40 PM by djohnson
Excuse the repost but I wasn't sure if anyone noticed my response to:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=post&forum=104

Is this True?

Just found something intersting (edit: "horrifying") at:
http://www.motherjones.com/news/outfront/2002/11/ma_153_01.html

"the No Child Left Behind Act, President Bush's sweeping new education law passed earlier this year. There, buried deep within the law's 670 pages, is a provision requiring public secondary schools to provide military recruiters not only with access to facilities, but also with contact information for every student -- or face a cutoff of all federal aid."

Is this really a law that * has been biding his time in enforcing it on us?

1. It's been enforced all along
Search the DU archives: There are years' worth of stories about jurisdictions and parents fighting back, personal anecdotes about school system reactions, et al.
