Utopia
Edited on Wed Oct-05-05 03:00 PM by ck4829
Imagine, tomorrow, you wake up...

And there is a long dead pet that you loved very much sitting at the foot of your bed!

You realize that something is funny, very funny.

You don't feel hungry, as most people do when they wake up, and while you are pondering all of this, you then slip and fall down the stairs.

But, it doesn't hurt a single bit.

As the day goes by, you hear that Earth has somehow become a place of eternal happiness.

The Dead are brought back to Life.

Sickness, both Physical and Mental, disappears entirely.

People of all Races and Religions can celebrate together and experience a Unity they never could before.

Feel crowded? You can jump out of what was formerly known as Bizzaro world and create your own plane of Reality.

Wealth means nothing. With just a snap of a finger, you can create a mountain of gold, a 500 room mansion, or a Mercedes Benz.

But, you know that there'd be people who would look at this and say "Ewwww!". And you know that they would try to figure out some way to alter this new Universe so that it can revert back to the way it was.

Would there really be people like this?

Who would they be?

Sounds like the Rapture to me..

Heathens, unbelievers, you know the ones that God hates.

5. It's a hypothetical situation
Here's the basic thing.

The world becomes Utopian. If people hated it and the equality that it brought, who would try to smash it just to revert it back to the way it was?

Sorry if it seems as though I'm going overboard or crazy. :)

4. Umm, if dead people came back, I'd probably be wanting it to revert
Edited on Wed Oct-05-05 03:06 PM by spunky
If for no other reason than the earth is too small for everyone who ever lived.

Oh, and in my Utpoia people would NOT WANT piles of gold and Mercedes.

And yes, it does sound a bit rapturey to me. . .

EDIT: but I'm a heathen atheist, so . . .

6. I don't know
I think going to heaven is more about becoming a heavnly person rather than travling to a heaven-like place.

Or, to put it another way, we'll be in utopia when we are ready for it.

9. Me.
Your Utopia lacks challenge, adventure, battles to be won, lost causes, struggle, strife and all of the things that make us strive.

Sorry dude, but your Utopia sucks.

10. There's always the precious present...
kind of like the Walgreen commercial. No needs, no wants, all is well, just be. We all have the power within us to experience heaven any time we want. Unfortunately we allow other people to usurp our power all too willingly.
