Ed Schultz had a interesting comment about Miers
He said the right wing "uproar" about Miers not being "enough of a Conservative" may be just a smoke screen to make her look more Middle then she really is.

I think he may have hit it right on the head. Plus the way Harry Reid already rolled over and is playing dead, I guess its working.

1. He's probably right
When did we ever see an uproar from conservatives about anything shrub has done?

2. No question
One of my "conservative" friends is already decrying this pick. Says that Bush has a right to pick a known quantity, not another stealth pick like Souter. He's working it hard, so he must have gotten the memo.

4. Why should we assume
that the Freepers are smart enough to pull off such a ruse so completely, from Rush all the way down to the right wing blogs, from the moment the pick is made? Sorry, I don't give the mouth breathers that much credit.

5. I don't buy it
This is one of those theories that rquires moer coordination than I think people are possible of doing. Many Conservatives really do think President Bush hasn't been enough of a conservative. They'll support him against us, but that has more to do with how much they hate use than it has to do with how much they love him.

7. More coordination than possible?
They get a blast fax every morning filled with all the talking points. Thats why every one of the RW talkers say the same things all the time, even down to phraseology at times. This pick wasn't made at 8 am, at the earliest the final decision was yesterday, it just wasn't let out to the MSM until this morning. Plenty of time to let their minions know how to react.

6. Hard to tell what'll trip their triggers
Seems to me reaction to Bush's Marshall Plan for New Orleans wasn't nearly so swift or fierce, though it's exactly the sort of big gummint commitment to spending and meddling in the natural order of things conservatives hate.

The Mark of the Beast has been a long-running bogeyman of the right, yet Republicans passed the Real ID Act with nary a peep.

So Bush floats up a tepid SC nominee and the wingers go batshit. Go figure.
