Harriet Miers: "these very most hardest issues"
"...as the president is about to tackle these very most hardest issues"

She SAID THIS during a speech about presidential judicial nominations currently re-airing on CSPAN. Was originally taped 4/22/05.

She is about as natural a speaker as her boss.

2. : P
She is now drooling over how great Priscilla Owen is... she is REALLY not a fine speaker.

CSPAN is now revealing this speech was to the Republican National Lawyers Association.

What a wacky cheerleader from hell.

4. She doesn't have to speak well or even think.
She's going to do what she's told, nothing else.

17. She'll get her "talking points" like all Republican loyalists
Will Roberts and Miers get their "ruling points" daily or by the case?

"She's going to do what she's told, nothing else."

Along with Roberts, she'll be following directions for the next 20-30 years. The future is not looking good.

5. .
She says the criticism of Owen has been 'horrific'. hmmmm

Watching this is like watching someone else's 8-year-old give a speech in an elementary school auditorium.

'It's a tragedy what has happened to this fine woman. It's a tragedy what has happened to this fine judge.'

:puke:

9. "As you can tell, we are lean" (referring to the size of her office)
..."that's the way the president and his chief of staff, Andrew Card, like it."

"We advise on whether the president should sign legislation or veto it..."

blah blah blah

Edited on Mon Oct-03-05 10:31 AM by Dhalgren
speak in an educated manner! She isn't running for office, looking for the NASCAR/Bubba vote; she is asking the US Senate to consider her for a lifetime SC position! Oh, for the love of all the gods!

10. "her attackers"? WTF wouldn't she say her opposition rather than
her "attackers"? The language that she is using is VERY telling.

Bathing in the Kool Aid much?

13. I think I may consider moving to Venezuela
"What makes it particularly exciting is coming to work every day knowing you are serving the president, knowing you are serving the American people... constantly being reminded of who you are there to serve... and what the president is working hard toward is creating an environment in which every worker who wants a job can find one... in order to create that environment, the president is working for reform... these are areas where you have helped with the president's agenda..."

Reforms she says they are concentrating on:

1. Class action lawsuit reform
2. Medical liability reform
3. Overtime rules reform
4. Simplyfying and streamlining governmental regulations
5. Frivolous lawsuit reform (am I crazy, or do I think this is a judgement for a JUDGE?! not politicians in the pockets of the industries being sued?!?!)

hmmmmm

14. I think I am going to puke.
"our legal system is remarkable. it's the best the world has ever seen. our healthcare system is also remarkable, however, it is being impacted by medical liabiliy crises - quality of medical care has declined. excessive suits have driven up the costs."

rough paraphrase, missed some of it...

But her delivery still sounds like a high school speech.

"medical liability reform focuses on making the system more fair"

16. Anyone notice the size of the cross
she was wearing? It was larger than those typically worn by Catholic nuns. Wears her religion very much on her sleeve - or around her neck.

19. This really indicates her 'thinking' abilities. Scary!
I just give up on America. I live here because I do not have the resources to live elsewhere. i will continue to live my shell and enjoy as little contact with the outside world as possible except for my PC.
