1. Find a pic
of that bus that burned and send it back to him. That one can be laid right at the feet of Perry.

5. send you freeper the facts that
FEMA was called in advance and TOLD them to NOT use busses because they 'didn't have air conditioning'.

Send them as much as you can find.

Also, send them the facts that RITA hit the swamps so damage was minimalized whereas Katrina hit major metropolises and that the leveys were destroyed on Bush's watch!

Oh..send him the picture of Bush playing the guitar and stuffing cake down his throat too.

6. this states rights issue is so 80s
Locals cannot handle disasters of this proportion, which is why
FEMA exists, and if you show pictures of Republican Mississippi, it
looks just as bad.

7. That Galveston photo must have been taken
before the highways all got so jammed people were dying in their cars. Find a photo of that gridlock and ask what would have happened to all those people if Rita hit dead-on Galveston/Houston.

trying to leave Houston from carbon monoxide and heat stroke.

Never never ever!!! He is the Boy King. The closest thing to Jesus we have had in the White House.

15. Well thank you, but I've been with DU for over 2 years
and had to go from Ishoutandscream to Ishoutandscream2. I'm sure I easily have over a couple of thousand posts.

Thanks again. And quite frankly, that was the closest thing to a Bob Boudelang quote ever. Really, no sarcasm smile was needed.

And I didn't mean to offend. It looks like you're pretty new just by looking at your profile. Well, you're new to me, anyway. Nice to meet you!

16. An excellent argument,
but I'm afraid my cousin has ovedosed on the KoolAid - he's been a Repuke all his life. I never held it against him before, but when he threw himself bag & baggage behind Junior it just went beyond the pale. He sends me this stuff all the time - I just don't respond. It really isn't worth my time.

The Houston Mayor certainly is. Not that I would ever expect these people to share credit for anything.

13. Boy are they confused!!! BIG TIME!!!!
First, Nagin was a Republican for years and he supports Republicans over Democrats in local and state elections. He didn't become a "name-only" Democrat til he wanted to run for mayor and knew he needed the (D) after his name to run in NOLA.

Second, the mayor of Galveston, who was responsible for the scene in the picture is a DEMOCRAT and she is very vocal in blasting the failures of the Republican governor of Texas, Rick Perry, at whose doorstep lies the cause of the highway back ups and the lack of fuel.

She has stated emphatically, the failure is Rick Perry's and his administration, for not having the roadways ready for contraflow or the fuel at the ready.

Mary

though I HAVE heard that Governor Goodhair isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer........

How on Earth can African-Americans be Republicans or support their values ?? I've never understood that, especially after Bill Bennett's comments.

14. the truth
The truth is that the New Orleans Buses were owned by a private company NOT the city. The city contracts out their school bus service. They can't use busses they don't own! Freepers never like the truth.

18. "Rita evacuation turns into traffic nightmare"
http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/nm/20050922/ts_nm/rita_traffic_dc
HOUSTON (Reuters) - A mass evacuation ahead of Hurricane Rita became its own disaster on Thursday as traffic backed up for at least 100 miles when a million people tried to flee the Texas coast.

http://thinkprogress.org/2005/09/23/rita-class/
Rita Evacuation Exposes Class Divide...
“This is the worst planning I’ve ever seen,” said Judie Anderson, who covered just 45 miles in 12 hours after setting out from her home in the Houston suburb of LaPorte...
Local officials said public housing residents are not being evacuated.

Those buses probably made it just over that hill in the distance and then idled for 10 hours and ran out of gas.

27. They've changed the image of Texas buses
The first time I saw that "collage", it was the Houston evacuation under Republican Leadership, and the bus in the back (at least) was empty.

After we mentioned that it didn't matter if there were people actually being evacuated, at least have photos of buses going out, the freepers must have found one that actually had people in the bus.

32. For a "mass evacuation", it would certainly appear that
there were plenty of vehicles going INTO Galveston, if that picture actually does show Galveston. Where is the proof that these buses were being used in the evacuation process at the time the picture was taken?

33. I have a Lousiana map with the parishes * declared states of emergency...
...on the 27th (see this weeks top Ten Idiots).

The governor clearly stated "The affected areas are all the southeastern parishes including the New Orleans Metropolitan area and the mid state Interstate I-49 corridor and northern parishes along the I-20 corridor", but Bush's list mised the entire coastal zone for 2-3 parishes deep.

PM me if you want a copy. Call it "Republican Leadership: Hurricaines? They come out of Missouri, right?"
