Plamegate - A crime was committed or they are stupid

Plamegate proves 1 of 2 things.

1. The Bush Administration is a criminal Administration.

OR

2. The Bush Administration is utterly stupid.

Why?

If a Crime WAS NOT committed, then why would they be dodging the truth for so long and not confessing?

Rove and Libby would be like Spongebob and Patrick in that one episode when they believed they committed a horrific crime when they stole a balloon.

If you are a criminal your crime, is tolerated, is never discovered, or people never suspect you are criminal. As a criminal organization this bunch has not fooled that many, they have substantial numbers who recognize them for what they truly are which includes "utterly stupid".

Remember what happens to most criminal organizations when their activities become public. Problem is the Public can live with stupidity until it impacts their lives. Al Capone lost a lot of support when the gang wars started to kill members of the public on the streets of Chicago. Similarly these criminals engaged some public wrath when their negligent stupidity took American lives in a natural disaster. A good Godfather would have never let that happen.
