Help Ryan! Look at this!!!
Edited on Sat Oct-01-05 09:03 PM by ray of light
Ryan

This is Ryan's family. I met them Saturday at the Peace Rally.

Ryan's aunt told me his story.

Ryan is a Marine serving in Iraq, but Friday September 23, 2005, Ryan was scheduled to return home to his family. He hopped on the plane leaving Iraq (yesterday), excited for his journey home and relieved that he was leaving Iraq in one piece and alive.

Unfortunately, the powers-that-be changed Ryan's plans. As Ryan sat on the plane and waited to take off, an officer suddenly came on board. He called out three names.

Ryan's was one of them.

4. The same thing happened to my friend, Brian.
He was on a C-130, waiting to go to Germany, and then the U.S. Guess what? "Brian Fish?"

"Yeah, that's me."

"Your discharge was denied. Off the plane, report to Dogwood, ASAP."

"What? I'm on a medical discharge!"

"Well, take that up with the guys at Dogwood."

Brian's convoy was attacked, his Hummer was hit directly with an IED. He was the only one in his vehicle to survive. He's now horribly scarred, and deaf in his right ear. Not to mention God knows how many psychological problems.

But, according to the powers that be, he's fit for continued duty.

Go figure...

22. Oh dear God in heaven. How many Ryans are there?
Edited on Sun Oct-02-05 03:11 PM by TayTay
This whole war was just so ill-thought out and so ill-planned. The Bush Administration just refuses to be held accountable for all the pain and disruption they are bringing to people like Ryan and his family. It's so tragic and sad.

My brother served in the Navy and then the Naval Reserves for over 22 years. I was (and am) very proud of his service, but I remember all those weeks that he put in his time and missed family events and such. It is so very much worse for these guys who have to serve in Iraq. My heart just weeps for them. They are the center of every thought I have on Iraq, every thought I have on how callous the Bush Admin is to our Vets and to our servicepeople who come back with injuries.

Thanks for posting this RAy.

They don't care how they are treated.

It isn't fair. They've done their time, and they deserve to go back to their lives.
