Judith Miller a hero for all journalists!

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9535787/

"I'm hopeful that my stay in jail will strengthen the bond between reporters and their sources," Miller told reporters.

8. ...to cooperate with federal investigators...
under these conditions.

Speaking as a journalist, there's plenty of times I can think of where I'd rather go to jail than burn a source, even before federal invetigators.

11. Note how my post said...
"cooperate with federal investigators under these conditions."

Which means, yes, I'd cooperate in this example. Just pointing out that, anytime there's a federal investigation, it doesn't necessarily mean that a journalist should cooperate.

4. "I'm hopeful that my stay in jail...
will show it's wront to protect criminals"

That's what she *should* be saying.

But in her world it's ok to protect a murderer when she witnesses them comitting the murder.

Her sources always consisted of members of the neocon death cult, the same people responsible for leading this country into the ground!

Screw you Judy! She did it for her own selfish reasons...she has not one ounce of integrity. I can't stand this wench...and I want to shake some sense into the people who always defend her...WAKE UP!

10. Me too!
She should have been in jail but not for "protecting" her sources...she should have been in jail for spreading the propaganda and outright lies that ultimately lead to the death of 1900++ American Service people and an untold number of Iraqi citizens.

There is, if it's any comfort, a special place in HELL FOR JUDITH MILLER

14. Here in Germany she is really being sold as journalist's hero.
But we do have quite a discussion (unfortunately not among the general public) about our journalist's "right of refusal to give evidence". In the course of the US pressuring Europe for "terrorist laws" this very important right has already been severely diminished. So the journalists are now understandably jumping on this - without checking what's behind it.

15. Remind them
that she was part of the conspiracy--a carefully chosen, administration-friendly media outlet through which to push the leaker's information--not some innocent reporter impartially covering a story.

16. reporters and their criminals.....
Reporters shouldn't have blanket immunity
from revealing their sources, especially in
this day of shilling for sources, printing
lies and or propaganda. Journalistic standards
have definitely lowered in the past ten years.

18. That woman isn't a journalist, she is a conduit for government
propaganda and disinformation. The whole discussion is ridiculous.
