How do I add an avatar?

When I go to edit my information, chick here for avatars, It gives a quick flash and back yo original screen. I must be doing something wrong but I don't know what. Help, Please?

2. Yes to pop-up blocker, If I disable it temporarily, can I

add avatar and then reinstall pop-up blocker? Any help appreciated.

3. You should be able to tell it to allow pop-ups for this site only.

Is it a third-party one, or the one that got installed with XP Service Pack 2? I am familiar with a couple of blockers but not all.

On edit: Yes to your question. You can turn it off, choose your avatar, then turn it back on again, no problem.

4. Thanks for your help, it worked, have not upgraded to SP2,

downloaded CleanMyPC pop-up blocker(free) from majorGeeks.com Obviously it works. BTW, I never have pop-up problems with this program. Seems to do the job well.
