My first-grader's PE teacher died in Iraq
The principal informed each class today, and she brought home the news. He was deployed last June in the Army NG.

What a waste. All that coursework, student teaching, love of children...lost in a pointless exercise.

My daughter noted that he died "fighting in the invasion." Good for her.

RIP, Andrew Wallace, who leaves behind a new spouse.

Sabriel

for all the poor, brave souls dying over there in this clusterfuck.

14. I would hope that his life as such wasn't wasted ...
... but that his life up until his needless death was as full as possible.

RIP

13. I remember a similar experience with VietNam when I was a child
I was in my early teens and one of our hometown boys who loved baseball and wanted to be a pro worked as a "counsellor" for our Summer Recreation program. We kids all loved him. He went to Nam and died in a radio shack on top of a hill in a storm. We were devastated, as were his parents. They donated money for a sports center (small) and our towns softball team plays there still (last I heard).

15. That makes 45 killed for Wisconsin
350,000 people protest an unjust invasion, and it still goes on.

16. that is so sad
Terrible for him, terrible for his family, terrible for all the little kids who never got to say goodbye to him.
There are going to be a lot of bad dreams in that school district tonight.
