DC March: I pledge to bring at least 3 people with me next time
Edited on Sun Sep-25-05 09:54 PM by NoBushSpokenHere
I pledge to bring at least 3 people with me next time. Imagine how many we could have if we each did the same. The rally was totally awesome! When we started and realized how massive the turn out was, many of us remarked how cool it would be if the beginning met the end of the march. Well, it did, and that was even with many who returned to the ellipse without walking the entire trek.

I was very moved by not only the amount of people there, but to see people from all walks of life, from the World War II veterans to business persons, to children. It was quite an emotional experience.

I had heard comments complaining about the various groups all carrying banners supporting their own plights. The general consensus though were that each group brought before it a commonality of ending the war. Overall it was a very united front. I salute the groups who put this great event together, I know it wasn't an easy feat.

Hindsight is always 20/20, so let's not let the opinions of a few pull us from the plight at hand. It was a great rally!

My suggestions for future rallies:

1. Set up a few tents at the beginning asking people to sign in or to take a number so that the true number of attendees could be better known.

2. Everyone pledge to bring 3 additional people.

3. March with the flag. Even though we are not very proud of our nation right now, we need to show that it is our love for this nation that we march.

I am extremely glad I went, and encourage everyone to do so in the future. They cannot continue to ignore the masses.

Edited for the third suggestion.

2. Great post and overall report on the sentiments of the folks who
were there in DC.

It's time for the left to unite and put an end to the infighting we are so famous for. The goal of peace and justice and the ousting of the bush crime family from power should be our unifying goal, regardless of the egos and the personalities involved on the left.
