News from the kid in DC.
The kid just called. She just turned 18 and this is her first march. Evidently she was part of the "Surround the White House" group. She said that when they got so close, they could see snipers on the roof tops. Then on through DC they went. People as far as the eye could see. Anyway, she just listened to Steve Earle and is getting ready to roll back to college. Trust me, I have been sweating bullets!!!

1. Don't worry
The snipers are on the roof all day, every day, all over downtown. They were there even before Sept 11 (they are Secret Service).

To my knowledge, they've never shot anyone, even when someone jumps the fence at the White House.

3. You've done good
What a great testament, having your kid go to her first march. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree I am sure. This will be one of those moments that will stay with her for the rest of her life. Congrats!!!
