Galveston mayor says people should be able to return in a few days
Wonder what the delay is? All the newsreaders been reporting minimal damage from that area. I don't understand this?

1. Oh,. that's very sweet of her. Allowing people to go to their own
homes, on their own property, in their city, to which she was simply elected mayor. "Return at my whim, o simple subjects. Else, off with your heads!"

Funny how the conservative ideals of an "ownership society" sort of disappear whenever they are inconvenient for our masters.

I don't evacuate...they play these games all the times. In the Keys we all have "hurricane re-entry stickers" printed with our Key of residence...this is supposed to expedite the return process...but after Georges, thousands were kept bottled up in Florida City and not allowed to return. People were so angry and many vowed not to leave again. I didn't leave and was glad, though I did lose my car in the storm surge.

3. galveston still out of power
water is rising within the bayous in Houston. There's no supplies, no gas. They want the roads free so emergency supplies can get back in get ready for the return.

An hour or two ago there was still a cat 1 hurricane in the region.

The last thing needed now is gridlock going back. Schools are going to be closed in Houston Monday and Tuesday.
