The wind is really starting to blow.
The latest forecast has Rita's eye centered on my front porch at seven tomorrow morning. Weather's been weird all day, windy and cool, with increasing clouds. Now the windows are starting to hum and whine. Lots of stuff flying around. Then, dead calm for a few minutes. Weird.

Wish me luck.

3. Where exactly are you?
My ex works in Groves/Bridge City somewhere near the foot of the Rainbow Bridge. The owner of her workplace doesn't expect the building to survive.

6. Bush = "The Wind"? Please.
If I found out that asshat started doing anything lately, including breathing, I'd go into shock.

It feels very tropical out there.

Its gonna be a loooong night yella dog.

You will be hearing nails being stretched tonight. Youll hear strange creaking noises and youll swear the roof is about to fly off as the banging of objects against your house startles you from the daze youll fall into periodically.

Went through one in Galveston back in 83. Alicia was a baby compared to Rita. Good luck and make sure anything loose is brought inside.

16. I was expecting my first child
when Carla hit in 1961. We lived in Houston, and were without electricity for almost two weeks. We went to the movies almost every night, just to stay cool. I slept through Alicia, even though we lost power then for about a week.
