If the freepers and "wouldn't Governor Terminator be cool?" types show up at the polls in force and outnumber the "no recall, yes Bustamante" voters, we're screwed.

If the "yes recall, yes Bustamante" element (there have to be some) people prevail, that's bad too--it will prove they can get away with overthrowing elections, even though they didn't get the puppet they wanted.

Best result: no recall. Davis was lawfully elected.

Drag a friend to the polls, then do it again! Wear an "I Voted" sticker, and remind liberals and progressive to vote.

Ask God, in whatever form you believe he/she takes, to throw out a little miracle, and not let this happen.

7. Drive people to the polls if they can't get there on their own!

Every election day I tell the story of how I drove my brother-in-law to the polls in 1992 and his one vote, with five others in the district, decided the majority of our state senate. It's true!

Without his vote and five others, the Repuke would have won, giving the R's a 51-49 majority. But the Dem candidate won by SIX VOTES, resulting in a 50-50 split. And I think they worked it out where one party would have the president of the senate one week, and the other party the next. A big difference from the Repugs having the majority outright!

What a difference a single vote can make!

10. Here from Calfornia!

My hubby has already voted No on the Recall, and will be doing so very soon. News coverage here in CA will begin around 5:00 pm pacific time, but results will not be released until after 8:00 pm pacific. Those east of me have a late night ahead of them, as do I.

11. Polling places were VERY busy this morning

I got there at 7:05 am and there was already a line. One polling place covering two precincts. One of our local news anchors was there (off-duty) and I KNOW for a fact she's voting against the recall.

Now, no more shit about "stupid Californians." NOTHING BUT POSITIVE VIBES .....

My polling place was in the auditorium of an elementary school. Normally it's a residential home closer to where I live. The school was crawling with voters at 7:20 AM.

Surprisingly (not!) I was the only on there at that ungodly hour.

I was thrilled to see that of the five poll workers that were there, four of them were young students! That is the first time I've seen that at my polling location.

Anyway, will keep on eye out on the action and report any good news.

15. Polling place in a Catholic Church

I'm a little put off by that one, and I *do* consider the church bulletin a piece of political literature, all within the heart of the polling place, but be that as it may...

The place was hopping, the poll workers were mostly on the ball, and despite it being busy, it was a 5-minute deal from start to finish.

Optical scanning machines, so you fill in your answers with a felt-tip pen and then they go into a ballot box (with cumbersome but ok auto-feeding into the box), and then, out you go. No "I voted" stickers.

I'm not sure, but the crowd looked pretty Dem to me.
