Why are the WH sources speaking of drinking?
There are so many more things they could leak that have policy consequences.

When Bush supporters hear "Bush is on the bottle", they roll their eyes. Left-wing media out to get Bush and all.

Is the "Bush on the bottle" a planted story to distract from others? I mean, why don't they leak "Energy task force ..." "About that Plame woman ..." "WMD ..."

1. Look at what Flanigan told the senate about rove and abramoff

Link from KOS in a sec.

http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2005/9/22/23130/4173

"Republican lobbyist Jack Abramoff bragged two years ago that he was in contact with White House political aide Karl Rove on behalf of a large, Bermuda-based corporation that wanted to avoid incurring some taxes and continue receiving federal contracts, according to a written statement by President Bush's nominee to be deputy attorney general.

Timothy E. Flanigan, general counsel for conglomerate Tyco International Ltd., said in a statement to the Senate Judiciary Committee last week that Abramoff's lobbying firm initially boasted that Abramoff could help Tyco fend off a special liability tax because he "had good relationships with members of Congress," including House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-Tex.)."

2. To give Georgie another out? Another way to try to shirk responsibility?

Or maybe the neo-con-masters want to put Cheney in charge for the duration and get the next in line appointed VP :tinfoilhat:

5. I'm not quite buying this "monkey in a bottle" routine.
Why can't the moron just be naturally stupid. If I had to put hard money on the bet I'd say it's chemicals that has him "all jacked up".

6. the rest from the Kos diary/same link as above
"Folks, this is TESTIMONY UNDER OATH by one of Bush's closest buddies... the future deputy attorney general!

And Rove is denying it! What will Abramoff have to say about it? More counts of perjury and obstruction of justice... more subpoenas of White House phone records... To quote one of the great lines of Ghostbusters... "This bitch is toast!"

Moreover, the now infamous Susan Ralston is involved.

Rove's personal assistant at the time, Susan Ralston, formerly worked as Abramoff's secretary. It could not be learned yesterday whether she was among those contacted by any of the 14-person Greenberg team recorded as working on the Tyco account.

Ralston - his most loyal lieutenant - will be subpoenaed and will seek her own counsel... Flannigan has agreed to recuse himself from any aspect of the Abramoff inquiry while at DOJ... Rove can feel his protection melting away... After Katrina, Conservatives are jumping ship... Between Pla"me and Abramoff and Katrina... Rove is so screwed..."

10. Because Bush is Clinically Paraniod Delusional
Blaming his behavior on an occasional glass of wine is easy for Americans to accept.

12. Bush never STOPPED drinking. The entire bush family are heavy drinkers
and have always, always been known as such. From Barb and Poppy, to stories of Laura the chain smoking pill popping Lush, on down through the boozed up sexed up twins, this isn't a shock to me, that's for sure.

I know there are claims that bush stopped drinking 10+ years ago, but you know something? An alcoholic can NOT be around drunks and NOT drunk; it's not possible.

When someone has an addiction to booze you simply cannot quit and then hang around other booze addicts... You can't do it; it's not part of your sobriety; it's not emotionally POSSIBLE. Bush has never ever called out his sobriety, and trust me, those that have beat the demon are proud of it, and call it for what it is.

He's never stopped drinking. He's still a drunk, a loser, a liar, a cheater, a murderer, a treasonous whore and thief.

I just can't stand that fucker.
