Texas Gov. Said Today
He said, and I am para-phasing, "I told the citizens to make sure that they filled their gas tanks 2 days ago. Apparently many didn't listen", when referring to the long lines.

Or did they? Isn't there a gas SHORTAGE!! Seems to me they listened to him and bought the gas out.

This leads me to believe that the Governor did not act quick enough to make sure that enough gas was available.

Am I looking at this correct? If so then it is more of the Repug "blame game the victims" routine. Sick bastards.

5. That's Just Stupidity
Never mind the insensitivy, typical Conswervative your suffering is your own fault attitude.

If every one had filled up two days ago, there would have been long lines two days ago.

I remember right after Katrina they were asking people in Florida not to buy gas unless they really needed it, because people making a run on gas stations made them run out. People panicky about not being able to get gas would try to fill their tank when it was half full (rather than waiting until it was near empty) and make the gas shortage a self fulfilling prophesy.

6. How long does it take to use up a tank of gas in a traffic jam
I would reckon not too long, since we've had snow storms up here where people abandoned their cars right in the middle of the downtown street.

11. Pompous Ass?
I see you've met our Governor Goodhair. Many fail to catch the "pompous" portion, but agreement is practically universal as to the latter characteristic.

12. I heard this on NPR. He used a VERY nasty tone of voice, too.
Said that he told them TWO DAYS ago to gas up and get out. Then he's got the nerve to be nasty when folks stuck in traffic for 24-36 hours are so STUPID as to run out of gas. Like there is any gas anywhere to be found. The stations all ran out yesterday, I heard (so much for Perry seeing to it that TX HAD enough gas).

What a pig.

9. peace and prayers indeed for these souls. I hope they get to dry land
and safety soon.

This texas governor is smug, arrogant, and very pompous. it's sickening that he would say something like this on air about these people just trying to leave and save themselves. he's definitely cya'ing. and what's with his lack of neck and always under "soft" lighting. me thinks he thinks he's mr. GQ or something.

arrogant fool! maybe he should get out there and try to drive away from this storm in that traffic nightmare and see how far he gets on one full tank of gas!
