Now I'd like to hear him take a further step back, and consider not just critique what the Bush Admin is saying -- but expose the pattern of behavior, across the board, that has been revealed by the hurricane planning and relief effort.

20. I never did. At least until recently. Seems that the wool has been
pulled down from his eyes and he's seeing this bunch of thieves and jackals for what they are. Nice to see others are, too, judging from his emails. Believe me, if he'd seen some that stood up for bush, especially now with everybody seemingly piling on him, he'd read them on the air for sure. Especially if it meant any hope to prop up the old belief system. What he's telling us by all this is how extremely public opinion has shifted.

I couldn't be happier!!! If HE is starting to see this, you bet the others are, also.

Perhaps, since limbaugh is now lambasting us here, and calling us monsters, he's starting to sweat, too. If he didn't feel threatened, he wouldn't give us the time of day.

Even here at DU, people are unwilling to understand that we have long ago passed the point of no return.

I hope I am wrong, but I am 98% certain I am right. It is a frightening thing to contemplate, but the longer we put it off, the lower our chances go of ever being free again.

I don't buy the spin that the media has somehow awoken. There is something going on. But I'd bet the farm that it is the plan. Bush is supposed to go down, maybe. Why, I don't know. Sometimes I wonder if they just see just how much crap they can pull without "We the People" doing a damn thing about it. Stolen elections; what are they gonna do about it? Devious Congressional voting; what are they gonna do about it? Lie the country to war; what are you gonna do about it. Phony "bipartisan" investigations and commissions; what are you gonna do about it? Empty the Treasury and give it to my friends; what are you gonna do about it? Violate the Constitution; what are you gonna do about it? I could type all night but I think you catch my drift.

47. Was it Michael Ruppert who said if Bush got too far out of the box, the
powers behind the Government would take him out? I think he said that a year ago before the past election.

When Iraq went badly maybe the "shadow government" decided he'd had his run. However Ruppert cautioned that the replacements would also belong to the "shadow govt." So it would be maybe "kinder and gentler" but more of the same.

A dreadful thought, I know...after all we've been through...

53. Exactly. Please read this thread, both the OP and the replies:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x4790112
thread title: Missing A KEY POINT in *'s speech: POWER GRAB FOR POTUS AND MILITARY

Bush wants more power, and this is no tinfoilhat rant. They have been working towards this for years, step by step. With the outrageous power of the POTUS under FEMA emergency, Bush can declare martial law for "civil unrest" and do damn near ANYTHING and Congress can't even review it for six months.

Like I said, please read this thread, including the replies. They've already destroyed so many Constitutional protections and balances. Now they feel they can blast the rest.

18. Actually, Mr. Cafferty
John Q. Public, when presented with a fair reading of the "stuff that comes out of the White House," has never bought it. It's taken the combined efforts of the Mighty Republican Wurlitzer and the so-called liberal media blasting spin and propaganda at all hours and at all times to keep the lid on this corrupt administration's incompetence.

But after the colossal screw-up that was relief for Hurricane Katrina, not even the MRW or SCLM could paper over the multitude of sins being committed, and one slip meant death. You don't jump the Grand Canyon in two stages. You either make it, or you don't.

But they've had a helluva run, a lot longer than I thought possible.

Edited on Tue Sep-20-05 03:43 PM by calimary
No. Kidding.

No. Shit?

Whoa.

Game. Set. Match, guys.

It'll be interesting to see how long this prevails. But it's been awhile since that week of hell in New Orleans, and people by now should have "rallied round their president." If it was going to happen, it would have occurred by now.

It hasn't happened.

What's more, their ONE option to compell the public to race back to his side is no longer available to them: a terrorist strike inside the US. They have already been proven, VERY MUCH the hard way, to be frauds in their claim that he was THE guy who was gonna keep us all safe. We saw too horrifyingly and disgracefully clearly how his leadership was nonexistent, and while he remained AWOL (hmmm, where have we heard THAT before?), his so-called reorganized and MBA/CEO-let's-run-it-like-a-BIZness government was in complete disarray and awash in cronyism and shameful incompetence.

The public doesn't like to be lied to. Look how many of them harangued on and on about Clinton's lie in the Monica persecution. This is a lie about how strong and secure he was about protecting YOU and YOUR safety. Now, you're likely to see "trickle-down" in effect all over everything he's touched - as in - well, if he can screw up on this, what's he gonna do on that? You're seeing that now in his handling-of-the-war-on-terrorism numbers, which will also take a toll on the whole Iraq fiasco. Which, frankly, is just New Orleans with more guns and less gumbo.

26. We know from clues already that in-country attack would trigger a coup de
etat by Bush and natiowide martial law, roundups of "regular" Americans and eminent domain over all broadcast networks and communication means. Those latter would be made to appear as voluntary by the junta. Censorship, mass "bannings" followed by various other abuses would ensue all to profit the Republican Party and other facist elements. Then attacks on muslims and arabic people would occur beneath the radar and coercion of various other sectors of society would be unabated. The installment of religious leadership and hegemony over all functions would also occur- an Iran like committee or council of elders would come to prominence, called for and called-upon by the perils to the "homeland".

32. Welcome to DU!
Just for you, I'm throwing in this Bill Maher quote that's just WUNNNNNNNNNNNNderful (during an on-camera rant directed at junior):

"So, yes, God does speak to you. What he is saying is: 'Take a hint.' "

Glad you're here. Settle in and find encouragement and support GALORE!!! Plus great wit and a LOT of excellent information and analysis.

Your name troubles me a little - you're an airmen's mom? You have a son (or more than one son) in Iraq? Aw, MAN! I hope not. If you do - I hope and pray that your heart's darling(s) come(s) home safe, alive, and in one piece. I'm a mom, myself. Every time I drive past the local VA cemetery, I don't see the headstones. All I do see are pools and pools and pools of mothers' tears. May that NOT happen to you!!!
