How did you mark the 4th anniversary of 9/11?
Earlier today I came across Rosebud57's ready-made flier...

...copied and pasted to Word and printed a couple dozen.

And decided to do some leafletting. In a grocery store parking lot, I targeted mostly the big, gas-guzzling urban assault vehicles, and all with yellow ribbons or other such regalia.

But later in the day I went into the parking lot of the local fundie chruch. It was so rewarding placing the flyers under the windshield wipers of all the cars with "W" stickers (some very fresh, at that).

Yes, Virginia, there are fundie * supporters in Massachusetts.

Please add what you did to mark the 4th anniversary.

p.s. Thanks, Roesbud!

7. lit a candle and took care of my sick daughter
who was born soon after 9/11 four years ago. She was 2 weeks late, which I blame on 9/11 - I swear she didnt' want to come into such a horrible world.

6. What a superb way to spend the anniversary.
I spent the day quietly at home...listening to the radio and monitoring DU. Did not watch even one Memorial on TV.
It was all so painful as it happened, I could not possibly relive any of it. I lived and worked near the WTC for 20 years. It was too much a part of my life.
I mourned it for a solid year. I did not go into Manhattan for a year after 9/11.
I just could not allow myself to be involved in starting to mourn again. It is too painful. Just having the image in my avatar is enough.

8. I couldn't find anything to do to mark the anniversary.

Unlike the three previous years. So, I did my errands, was depressed as usual, wanted to beat the shit out of some asshole bad drivers, tooling around in their massively large SUVs with their waste-of-resource huge families, blathering on cell phones with W. stickers on their bumpers. Fat, stupid pigs.

Or mark them in any way. I continued to do some work for the Democrats so we can get rid of the type of people who let this and NO happen. I hope they rot in hell! JMHO!

11. Alternately,
bawled, wallowed in depression, and confronted my husband about getting the hell out of here. And I wasn't even watching memorials.

Also had some Chinese and slept because I couldn't find the energy to do much else.

Later, I'll be giving myself a Betaseron shot. My life is just full of excitement.

12. Busy Day
Went to church, where I contributed to our Katrina relief effort, went to my Dad's to celebrate his birthday, consoled my daughter who lost a friend in a car accident, took some groceries to a family hosting 11 relatives from the gulf, and prayed for my family, my community, those who have suffered recent losses, and the world in general.

Now I'm drinking a diet coke and eating a plate of fudge.
