6. What the hell?
When I first saw this, I thought it was a lament - as in "we cleaned up public housing and then it was wiped out by Katrina."

Now I find out someone said it meaning the Katrina cleaned up public housing?

Some people are just, well, not even human.

11. this is what motivates these assholes
Alot of the bullshit racism the elitists at the top use is to justify thier own greed and dominance..that makes the rest of the world poor.Greed and Racism..
This focuses on the greed but greed leads to elitism and that can be tied to racism these sick beliefs are a system, all of it goes hand in hand with these pigs.

- a new theory concerning the origins, nature, extent and morality of this destructive force inherent in free market economies; argues for a new interface with already-outdated environmental rhetoric; includes an array of practical solutions; extensive references.

And this page looks at....

two discredited ideologies are rising again, laissez-faire (as Libertarianism) which aggressively promotes freedom but is disinterested in both justice and democracy, and Social Darwinism. How the classical assumption of self-interest leads to fear. The workplace versus democracy. Sociopaths. Credit cards. And a special word corporations use when explaining the damage they do. Remedies.

Plese check out this site!!!

12. Thank you for that link
Heady reading, I will delve into it tonight. The racism at the core of the handling of this tragedy is seeping out, barely hidden by our "leaders". It's like they are so emboldened that they don't even bother hiding it anymore.

13. I know it's been there all the time though
I mean remember Trent Lott and his Strom Thurmond comment..A racist prez fancy that..Well we have had racist predidents all the time... Racism is still entrenched it always WAS. It is was just more closeted than before and it's leaking out more now..And economics does play into racism,I mean look at racist employers, rich white men whining over having to hire blacks..

look at who is really the poorest here,And who has the least, and the worst schools school quality is tied to property taxes and poor people do not own nice houses so thier schools suck and it is all twined together under the notion of eugenics..,It's black people and some other racestoo and poor appilacian whites that are not all white..really. Some of the southerners are republican because they are in denial about how non white they are.

15. Hey, if *no* one ever has to go back to the bricks
it will be a good thing.

Yeah, Richard Baker is a piece of shit, but the project in New Orleans were miserable ghettos, places of despair and death.

They should be raised and replace with decent housing. In fact, given that some people will not return, their are tremendous opportunities to build a really decent city.

Let the bricks be gone.
