BIG NEWS! Iraqi vets charge at US troops!
Hot off the presses from MSNBC Online! I know that this should be in LBN, but I thought this should be brought to EVERYONE'S attention here. Looks like things are not going to get peaceful over in Iraq:

BAGHDAD, Iraq, Oct. 4 — Former Iraqi soldiers angry over rumors their pay would be cut off clashed Saturday with coalition troops in Baghdad and in the southern city of Basra in riots that left two Iraqis dead and dozens injured. Coalition officials said Saddam Hussein supporters fomented the violence. Elsewhere, a U.S. soldier from the 4th Infantry Division was killed and another was wounded in an ambush early Saturday in Sadiyah, 60 miles north of Baghdad.

I seem to remember Rummy saying something that incidents like this WOULD NOT happen. I'm waiting for another Tet to happen. It will be VERY soon, I can feel it.

1. I heard it differently on CNN.
They said the Iraqi army guys went there to get the $40 they were promised by coalition. US guys beat up an old man and THEY started the riot, then it descended into hell looking just like the I/P situation (soldiers firing at unarmed men in civilian clothing throwing rocks).

2. cnn.com reporting both stories.
Lead's with Baathists inciting the riot, and about halfway into the story mentions the witnesses who claimed coalition soldiers were beating an old man.

A bad scene either way.

3. Kick
:kick:

Whichever story it is that is the true one, neither one is good. I'll see if I can dig up the CNN link and put it here.

4. Here's the CNN link

No matter which story is true or not, this is NOT good news. I wonder if the mainstream media is reporting this on the boob tube.
