Over heard a woman at the Country Club tonight...
Talking about how disgusted she was with Barbara Bush.....

How she was a loose cannon.....

And how awful it was to make those comments...

People are dying, she said.......

And then the converstion turned to Talbots and the great sale they were having......

90% republican, this country club......

11. Her face looks like....
...Popeye's, therefore my moniker for her is Nana Popeye. (Of course, she can be mistaken for a teamster - no offense to teamsters).

6. I overheard this in my very red state's very red financial workplace...
Overheard on Tuesday...

This is in a very red state, for a very red financial institution. I'm not friends with these people because I believe they're all right wing pigdogs, but I heard this...

"For the FEMA director's qualifications, what do you expect???"

"What was he? I heard like some manager, like for Belk or something..."

"I think some horse show manager or something. well at least the horses were safe..."

7. And then there's this:
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Al Gore helped airlift some 270 Katrina evacuees on two private charters from New Orleans, acting at the urging of a doctor who saved the life of the former vice president's son.

Gore criticized the Bush administration's slow response to Katrina in a speech Friday in San Francisco, but refused to be interviewed about the mercy missions he financed and flew on Sept. 3 and 4.

However, Dr. Anderson Spickard, who is Gore's personal physician and accompanied him on the flights, said: "Gore told me he wanted to do this because like all of us he wanted to seize the opportunity to do what one guy can do, given the assets that he has."

9. Sounds like some of the conversations I hear at work....
at least most of the people I work with are NOT BushCo supporters, but this talking about what I bought and where is vomit-inducing.

10. So True. I have two a-political co-workers
who will go and get sales fliers to discuss if I bring up anything political. When I asked one why she does that she said political talk makes her feel stupid.

She is astute.

13. That's hilarious. My mother-in-law has made the same comments
since 9/11. She even pulled my kids aside and tried to tell them how virtuous she was being by spending to support our economy. Yeah, she voted for the shrub.

14. Do you ever speak out, and confront while you are there?
We are going to have to make these folks very uncomfortable, in their most "comfortable" surroundings.

16. Oh yea, I usually make a comment loud enough for people to hear...
Tonight I was wearing my Bill Clinton Sax on my blazer (yes, I won a blazer) the server asked what it was....

And I said, why it was a pin I got when I attended Bill Clinton's 50th Birthday at the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, you know, the last elected president....

Loud enough for the loudmouth Fox boy at the next table to hear...

But usually I defer...

I don't belong.. I just go....

My MIL is a long time member who has been converted by me to voting almost all Dem...

I have also convinced a lot of her Blue Haired friends to vote Blue as well....

18. NO
I don't know them very well as I just became aquainted a year ago....One time I brought up voting for Bush and they looked at me like I had four heads....I just go outside and smoke....Luckily for me this was a one year stay and I won't be hanging out with them anymore. I hate to sound like a weakling but I do speak up where I feel there is a possibility of being heard these people never talk about anything that matters....nothing......sippo....nothing...."what theme are you doing for your son's birthday? MY answer " We don't have a theme".They look at me and go "oh". Like I am a lame shit. I really cannot relate, please don't beat me up for not giving them a new asshole it just wouldn't work. They wouldn't even get mad they would just think I was crazy. They are the consumer dead.

19. Yes, but was she really concerned about the suffering or
just that Barbara Bush was a loose cannon, which to me means that she makes their privileged set look bad?
