George Bush won him some political capital in 2004.
I remember seeing him gloat about it right after the elections. Looks like he let a lot of that "capital" drown in NO. Why not save the poor?! They work their asses off just like the middle class! 60 hour work weeks, 3 kids and a single parent. Why leave them to die? They just wanted a good life and some liberty like all Americans. Oh yeah that's right, black people don't vote Republican and most of the poor are driven away from the voting booth!

And they call lefties "elitists"?

FUCK THEM ALL.

3. What political capital he had
was stolen, just like the election. Now that the media is somewhat off the reservation (seems that their reporters who were in NO actually have human feelings), there won't be a lot of positive spin about this mess. Besides, too many people are thinking, "What if something happens in my town? Will Bush screw up as bad as he did in NO, or will it be worse?"

5. Yeah, well
He came charging out of the gate waving the Social Security banner and promptly got smacked back into the box. For once, his fantasies got crushed by reality. I haven't heard him open his yap about "political capital" since.
