Conversation with winger (paraphrased)
W:It's Clinton's fault. We had all that money and he didn't fix the levees.
M:The levees weren't fixed but it was budgeted to be fixed.
W:It's still his fault that it wasn't done before Bush took office.
M:(asked if she was familiar with capital budget expenditures to try to explain..she wasn't;))
W:Well it just comes down to Clinton's fault. I don't know about all that, but with all that extra money, that should have been fixed.
M: So...what you are saying is that it's Clintons fault that Bush spent all the extra money?
W:Well we have been at war.
M:I'll tell you what. Let's just end this and say that it is Clinton's fault that you voted for Bush.

:crazy::eyes:

I can't get the reasoning, but I tell you one thing...that must be one powerful dick.

1. I thought there was a study done in 2001/2002 that said the levees
needed to be fixed/repaired/updated. Clinton wasn't even in office then. Typical repug response, they don't have all the answers yet blame Clinton.

4. This lady isn't a freeper
Just a right winger.
Being fed a steady diet of corporate media. That is the hardest thing to overcome. They are being brainwashed and stepford'ed.
She is a nice lady--she just doesn't get it.

9. Bummer. I had an encounter w/ a former co-worker who said the poor
didn't leave NOLA because it was the end of the month and they didn't have any more welfare money.
:grr:

12. Bush is 1/4 of the way into his 2nd term and everything is STILL Clinton's
fault.

Yep. Makes sense to me.

I also like the way they always blame "the liberals" - I just want to scream, "Where are these liberals you speak of? Cause I don't see any."

5. 4 years and 8 months of blaming Clinton.
They have nothing else. To blame the Resident would be sacriledge, and would require actual synapse firings.

Heaven forbid.

10. Well, that's just retarded.
Clinton didn't fix or reinforce the levies. True.

But neither did Bush. And he only had five years to do it.

In what way is Bush a victim here?

11. Seven years ago President Clinton started a project to reinforce
the levees. That project was to be completed this summer. Guess when the funding was cut? That's right - WHEN BUSH TOOK OFFICE.

13. Thank you for that line,
"It's Clinton's fault that you voted for Bush", I'm going to be trying that one out soon.
