I really think Bush's support is breaking.
Edited on Fri Sep-09-05 03:06 AM by BullGooseLoony
I'm hearing a lot of repenting from them.

My girlfriend's mother invited us out to dinner tonight, and although she, apparently begrudgingly, voted for Kerry in the election (after talking such trash about him like "He wouldn't have responded to 9/11"), she seems to be coming over to our side. The first thing she did when we sat down was pull out that National Geographic article from last year predicting the New Orleans scenario. We talked with her about our trip to Crawford. She seems to be learning quite a bit.

And just now, if you were listening to Bernie Ward you heard a lifelong Republican woman calling in and expressing her disgust with Bush and his administration. She seemed hesitant- as did my girlfriend's mother- but she was quite clearly upset. And ashamed.

And then all of the stories we've been hearing on DU. I really think they're breaking.

2. I think so too
there are so many whammys against Bush and with the turnabout by the media and the likes of even Joe Scarboro, the rats are finally jumping off the sinking ship. THat's why I think judy miller is bargaining, her loyalty to lame ducks is worthless.

katrina is 10x 911! it's 9110! This second episode of ineptitude is inescapable. Two days ago it seemed like those fukkers might wriggle out of this, but today the took a beating; Cheney getting the fuck yourself and Laura Bush calling the hurricane Corinna - double foot dog doo stepping...

Condi buyind shoes and Dumbya playing the guitar while families die. total sapotage of any sensible rescue effort by fema with an uncredentialed leader, america's beloved cultural landmark destroyed, thousands of dead bodies, crazy gas prices.

These guys are fukkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkked!

4. It was just too much. The pictures. The videos.
Things were already piling up so much before. But this disaster is a huge pile of its own, and it keeps growing. We haven't even gotten a body count, yet.

5. I'm sure there were bush voters who recoiled in horror at the images shown
I'm sure there are republicans wondering where that promise of protection went - how will they protects us in a terrorist attack......I'm sure the idea of bush investingating himself sounded ridiculous to Democrats and more than a few republicans

6. The repubs are nationalists
Very much so after 911.

The swing of mood shows that many are viewing the NOLA citizens as Americans, regardless of color. They don't like the way Bush treat American citizens on US soil AND there is a certain amount of pride involved as well. To be offered help from Cuba and Iran must have struck a chord somewhere ;-)

7. I know republicans who are regretting their votes over this
They're watching how the rest of the republicans respond to the situation very closely. To me this is much more important than their turning from bush. If they can honestly see how deep the corruption in their party goes we have a shot at taking our country back.

If nothing else, I think we're at the end of the "it's unpatriotic not to support your president" phase.

8. Help break his support - Spread the word about Bushville, DC 9/11
On 9/11 survivors of Katrina will perform an act of NONVIOLENT Civil Disobedience by setting up camp on the Washington, DC Mall.

Bushville, DC will remain as long as it takes to get answers and change.

Visit http://www.bushville.org and spread the word.

We will camp on Bush's doorstep and make him face us every day until he is driven from power.

Push this website hard, please. Help make history. We are contacting as many local activists as we can.

10. I heard from 2 repugs yesterday
Who are ashamed and embarrassed about Dimson's behavior. They both regretted ever voting for him.
