We were promised honor and dignity
I would accept accountability. Let's take a walk down memory lane. In 2000, we repeatedly heard that this crowd would restore honor and dignity to the White House. One aspect of honor is taking responsibility and being accountable. Let's take a look at this administration's version of accountability.

In the very first days of this administration we heard wild tales of a trashed White House and Air Force One. Eventually it got so bad a Republican demanded an investigation. The GSA investigated and found nothing. It was all a lie. Number of people fired, 0.

In June of 2000, Jim Jeffords of VT left the Republican party and became independent, costing the Republicans Senate control for a year and a half. One of the main reasons he quit was repeated abuse by the Republican White House. Number of people fired 0.

In 2003, we went to war in Iraq on the wing of several lies. We were told they had WMD, they didn't. We were told they were Osama's buddies, they weren't. We were told they could attack us with planes and all kinds of things, they couldn't. Number of people fired 0.

In 2003 and 2004 our troops faught in Iraq with too few troops and not enough equipment. They had family and friends send them air conditioners and armor. They used scraps to fortify their vehicles. Here it is three quarters of the way into 2005 and we still don't have the troops or equipment. Number of people fired, 1 the person who told them to have more troops.

Billions of dollars have been lost in Iraq as we are running out of money to rebuild. Halliburton has repeatedly ripped off the Pentagon to the tune of hundreds of millions. Number people demoted, 1 the woman who told us Halliburton was ripping us off.

In 2005, a massive hurricane devestates New Orleans and the Mississippi Gulf Coast. It takes days for FEMA to get on the scene. People literally dehydrate before our eyes on national TV while Mississippi Mike, like Bagdad Bob before him, told us everything was fine and he had no idea people were in the Convention center. A convention center that in usual times was easily accesable by water sat for days with no one helping out. Number of people fired, 0.

In the years leading up to this hurricane, we were repeatedly warned this could happen. Funds were repeatedly requested to shore up the levees around New Orleans. From 2001 to 2005 those funds were cut repeatedly to pay for the war in Iraq. Number of people fired, 1 the chief of the Army Corps of Engineers who had the temerity to suggest that the cuts were endangering the nation.

In the lead up to the Iraq War, a CIA employee was outed to the nation for the crime of having a husband who spoke truth about the lies this administration was telling. We were promised that anyone involved would be fired. We know that Rove was involved. Number of people fired, 0.

Where is the accountability? Is that part of honor?

4. The Problem is...
...Bush's followers are not doing him any favors with their blind support. The man needs to take responsibility for his actions, but they keep feeding his ego. So there is no accountability where he is concerned.

7. Honor and dignity...
...were "words" given to little George by his handlers. He has no idea what these words mean. Kind of like "noble cause"...
