Rush and Joseph McCarthy are vocal dead-ringers
I became politically aware in the early '50s in Joseph McCarthy's heyday. Listening to him is the most vivid memory I have from that time in my life. I have always sensed that their voices were almost interchangable. I have put clips from them side-by-side. What do you think? McCarthy comes in at 40 seconds.

1. The url for the entire clip from McCarthy
is:

He outs 20 alleged communists in this public speech. All of this
takes me back to the chilling nature of those times - similar in some ways to the way things have gone in the last couple years.

2. Great speech site
As I browsed the speech site from my original post, it became apparent that this is a great source for famous speeches.

Great listening.

"Gentleman get the thing straight once and for all, he policeman isn't there to create disorder, the policeman is there to preserve disorder" Richard Daley
Was he serious? Or was that a slip?

4. Interesting.
McCarthy has a higher voice, but both Limbaugh and McCarthy seem to share similar speech patterns. The inflection and pace of their speech is remarkably similar. Both guys seem to be trying to sound like comic book super heros.

I wonder if the similarities in their speech patterns has to do with similarties in their thought processes.
