MSNBC is back on the bus!
Yessiree, that didn't take long, folks. The Nine-O-Clock hour began with a "happy" story of a woman who finally left her New Orleans home after troops returned to her home and pounded on her door for the forth time, until she was "convinced" it wasn't safe. Then on to the Happy Bush News, and how wonderfully things were working out for the people of Mississippi. Haley Barbour got plenty of face time to tell America how wonderful the administration is, what a great job BushCo has done, and how absolutely everyone involved has performed wonderfully. Thank you, Mr. Barbour. Your relief check is in the mail.

The theme today is clearly "Triumphing Against Adversity." Thank you, Mr. Bush. You've given the poor people of New Orleans the ability to finally TRIUMPH over something. And congrats to MSNBC, for being the first news outlet to demonstrate that its early displays of outrage at BushCo were merely abberations, and all further such critical outbursts will be limited to Keith Olberman, who is just a sports guy anyway, so what does he know.

Praise Lord God Bush.

they never really got off the bus
While you saw outbursts last week from CNN and FOX reporters, MSNBC was strangely muted (except for Nora O'Donnell, who praised Bush at every opportunity). Scarborough was mildly critical, but that was about it.

They've been bringing us lots of feel-good success stories via Rita Crosby, fuzzy-wuzzy happy stuff. Soon, if you're an MSNBC viewer, you'll start thinking this hurricane was a happy event, because it gave us so many heart-tugging happy endings. Bush who?

8. Exactly!!
They are trying to take away the blame on Bush when it's so clear that it's his fault.

2. I'm curious
Does it make you feel special to be one of the very few people in the world that ever watches MSNBC?

5. LOL! I'm one of about 150,000 or something!
WOOHOO!

That's a good point. I was just trying to give someone, anyone, other than CNN, a chance. Or Fox, but that goes without saying. What can I say...I'm gonna leave the teevee on, even if the sound isn't on. You kinda expect actual, real news to happen during times like this, you know? I thought I sense a tilt toward a slightly more "balanced" approach the last couple of weeks, but I can clearly see I was hoodwinked again. What did I expect from a broadcaster owned by a defense contractor? Oy.

Thanks for slapping me back into consciousness on the MSNBC demographics. They really don't count for much, do they?

6. Fresh batch of kool-aid was being mixed while Katrina struck.
All the reporters didn't get a glass though, before arriving on NOLA.

They've been rehydrated now. Back to standard operating procedure.

7. What were you expecting??
The free media is gone. It's been gone since 1965. The last real reporters were of the 1970's with Nixon. Ever since then we haven't had any real reporters. *sigh* Republicans are Gods and the democrats are the devil no matter what. It's that "us vs them" mentality and they don't give a damn about the truth. Only to save their own asses and making tons of money.

9. Ask Larry Johnson...He Knows First Hand...
http://www.tpmcafe.com/story/2005/9/7/141812/3897

While watching the MSNBC program, CONNECTED, COAST TO COAST with Ron Reagan, a man from the Evergreen Foundation was on air spinning the myth that the President had to "beg" the Governor of Louisiana to take action. Having been on this show several times I called one of the bookers, Susan Durrwatcher, to alert her to the fact that this man was misrepresenting what happened. I offered Susan the following objective, documented facts (see timeline below). Susan thanked me for my "opinion" and said "we just have a different perspective". Stunned, I asked her by what standard of journalism that an objective fact was mere opinion? I asked her to simply look at the documents and correct the record. She declined. I asked her to remove me from the MSNBC list of contacts. I'm sure MSNBC won't miss me and I am certain I will have a happy life without having to subject myself to their unprofessional approach to journalism.

Yep...that corporate media really looks out for...

...themselves
