For those having Freeper type arguments
How I disarm them immediately, I ask:

1. What do you know about PNAC?
2. What do you know about ARBUSTO?
3. What do your know about Mike Brown's last job?

You will usually get the ole " Deer in the head light" look.

Then I say "When you know more about these subjects, then I will be able to continue this conversation. You are obviously uniformed on this subject to continue.

My new one for those who agree with me that this is horrible what is happening to those poor people in New Orleans, I ask:

1. Are you registered to vote?
2. Do you Vote?
2. Are you questioning your Government?

If they give me a negative to any question, I let them know that they have not been participating in the great experiment called Democracy and I hold them personally responsible.

I have been getting that same look. "Deer in the headlight".

2. I like your short cut through to the meat of the issues.

If they can't bother to informed, they've got no business opening their yaps.

Shuts 'em down hard, I'd wager (your 'deer in the head lights look' comment). They're not used to being challenged like that.

3. Great thinking.
Always set the tone and demand to know what they know of the subject at hand, and set them on the defensive. It usually weeds out the jingoists and leaves you with people who, at least in my experience, can be reasoned with, while the freepers sulk off in the corner waiting to interject another uninformed talking point.

5. Thank you
They are like parrots, just repeating what they have heard. When you ask them any questions, forget about it.

6. Confession--I would answer "no" to one of the questions
1. What do you know about PNAC? Plenty (I don't want to make this a long post)

2. What do you know about ARBUSTO? It was one of bu$h*'s failed oil companies, right?

3. What do you know about Mike Brown's last job? Nothing (though I do know he got his present job by means of patronage, and his incompetence has been made abundantly clear).

Answers to the last three...all yes, or I would be at freeperville instead of here at DU.;)

Now, would anyone like to educate me on Question #3? I could dig it up, but I don't know how much I'm willing to slog through more records of the chimpy administration's screwups. I might :puke: on my computer.

9. Not race horses--an Arabian horse show organization.
the International Arabian Horse Association, to be specific (what a disgrace to have that man in charge of the preservation and celebration of such a noble animal...it's the horse that you would see on my avatar if we weren't at level three).

11. Exactly. Talk over their heads.
It's easy. Just use the information you have. They'll be so discouraged by not having a clue that they'll shut up or walk away. It works. Talk about Plame. About the Downing Street memo. About The Carlyle Group. About Jeff Gannon. Ask: how will sharia affect women's constitutional rights in the new Iraq? What about the background of the Iraqis who are writing the new constitution? What are your feelings about Chalabi? About the royals in Saudi Arabia and their underwriting of terrorists. See. Talk radio covers very little other than bombast. So it's amazingly easy to bury freeper arguments with knowledge. I do this all the time. Watch CSPAN. Come to DU. Read a few newspapers. And you're set. Easy freeper slaying. (and fun!)
Oh, The Daily Show isn't a bad resource, either!
Love those clips of "Brownie" not having a clue what he's supposed to be doing....and last nights montage of all the Bushies repeating the same line "don't want to play the blame game". Oh, those talking points. Everybody gets their copy.
