Blanco on Anderson Cooper.
In response to feds blaming state and local officials, Blanco tersely says: "They know not of what they speak." She is pissed.

1. Yep, she is, I have no worries from watching her
I am sure she and her staff have documented FEMA's total incompetence for the investigation.

3. You get the impression that if they're gonna take her down,
she's gonna go down fighting. She won't be taken alive.

2. Good for governor Blanco
This woman is standing up for her state. She will not let shrub and company accuse her of incompetence.

5. Tired and beat...
I was just watching Anderson Cooper and saw that. Blanco is right. This disaster was so enormous, so incredible. There is no mayor that could have done this by their self. I am so tired of people saying that Guillaini could have done it.. I have no disrespect for the mayor of NY but 9/11 was not Katrina. NY was not under water, devastated by mother nature, there was no mass evacuation of NY city.. if there would have been a need for that, there is no way Guillani could have accomplished that.

I am tired and need to take a break from this. I get so frustrated over the news going back and forth. I feel that Anderson Cooper and Jon from TDS are the only places that are the true non spin zone. My head hurts, my heart is heavy, tears are streaming down my face. I can't take much more. I have done the calls, emails, letters, donations, I just don't know what else I can do. Sometimes it feels as if I cannot make a difference.

I just want this to stop. I just want america to wake the fuck up, excuse me...I am humiliated to live here, I cannot believe what I am hearing from Delay, Mehlman, Bush, Etc....Nothing will change, I have no more hope.

You are all amazing. I don't know how you do it.

11. Don't lose hope, cbear.
If a change is to be accomplished, then everyone willing to fight for that change is needed. It IS still a daunting task, despite the horrific and unimaginable bunglings of the government. Such is the time we live in. But if we loosen the grip on these arrogant and uncaring people now, then what will happen to future generations? They will no doubt continue to suffer under "two Americas." Besides, it sounds like you have done plenty already with all your civic actions. Good deeds like these, multiplied a megafold by countless people with good hearts like you, do not go unrewarded. The survivors of Katrina are grateful. Take heart.

8. CNN played Tom Delay's remarks from yesterday prior to her interview
Edited on Wed Sep-07-05 06:53 PM by PA Democrat
Delay said that local and state were first responders, and basically they couldn't handle it and called in the feds. Cooper said that Delay's remarks angered many of the first responders because they implied they were incompetent when they have been working so courageously and almost non-stop for the last week.
